Frigidaire SXS PLHS69EESS2

18 October 2011 - 08:27 PM

Hello All !
Got a call the other day on a Frig. SXS ( PLHS69EESS2 ) , He said water filter was leaking & unit would not run ?
Having seen this problem before , I asked myself why would any DUMBASS design a refrigerator with the water filter in the same housing as the electronic control ?
I ordered a new control ( 5303918340 ) & installed with the new wire harness .
Also let the customer know that he should let me install a filter bypass ( 241944302 ) & a inline filter that costs less than half to replace !
But , I did all this & plugged the unit back in & everything started up as it should , BUT the freezer display was showing the temp correctly & the FF display is blinking # 4 !
I have no information on this unit .
Is this something to do with the damper ?
At startup , the damper appeared to be wide open .
Any help anyone could give me on this would sure be appreciated !
Thanx in advance ! Randy @ Southern Appliance

Kenmore gas range 790.78772407

26 September 2011 - 08:25 PM

Hello everyone !
I looked at a Kenmore gas range today. 790.78772407.
It was unplugged from the outlet when I arrived.
I put power to it & the display was dark , no response from any buttons .
I unplugged it & pulled it out to get access to remove the back panel & removed the ERC & separated the boards & saw nothing unusual eg bad solder connections on relays , NO roach shit everywhere , no scorch marks etc.
Put ERC back in & everything worked , Bake & Broil , several times.
I was writing up the ticket & all of a sudden , with the range OFF the LED on the clean button lit up & the display showed 2 dashes & I could not make it go away with the stop/cancel button .
I called the customer later to quote a price for oven control & then she told me that when the problems first started , she saw code F11
I saw no codes while I was there , AND being 30 miles away It was then a good time to learn of this then , when I asked her at the time if she had seen any error codes on the display ?
But the stupid question of the day IS what does F11 mean ? I can't find that code anywhere !

GE wall oven JTP11WS3WG

09 May 2011 - 09:44 PM

Hello All !
I have a customer who has a GE wall oven ( JTP11WS3WG ) that appears to have a bad oven sensor.
I tried to get a replacement but part is NLA.
Do any of you know of a substitute sensor that will work on this oven ?
I told the guy I would try to do what I could for him !
This is a single oven mounted just above the floor sort of like a drop in range.
With a cooktop mounted above it in the countertop.
All of it in ceramic tile so any repacement will result in major remodeling which he would like to avoid at this time.
Any reply would be Welcome !
If I need to break out the violin for him just let me know !
I can,t play, but I figure I could fake it!
Thanks in advance!
Randy
