#317689 253.57389601 side by side fridge not dispensing water

Posted by mmoore5553 on 13 April 2015 - 03:22 PM

Thank you everyone for your help. I have now fixed it. I first went to bottom of quick connector under the front kick panel. I disconnected that and hit the water button and water sprayed on the floor. BONUS . It is at least making it there so the problem had to be in the door and above. I used hair dryer and that did not work. I used a ear and ulcer builb syringe and that did not work. I then heat the metal up again . I then used weed eater cord on where the cup hits the dispensor . I put it up in the nozzle to make sure not clogged there. Then i decided it was not there and had to be in the long door run.

I do not recommend this but it worked for me. Since i run wire and do electric work. I thought hmmmmmm I could put 14 gauge wire in the tube and feed it all the way up. Just like a clog in a toilet . So i fished the wire up the door and it stopped. I knew it was something blocking as I measure the distance and knew the cord was not all the way up the door. I then just worked it up and down and then i heard some noise. I then hooked everything back up and bam. I had water . I am not sure if calcium build up from a filter never getting changed or just frozen ice.

Nothing worked for me until i did it with the 14 gauge wire from the bottom of the fridge quick connection all the way up the door.

I am happy it is working and I double checked for leaks.

Hope this helps someone else.

just wanted to post back and thank everyone. It was the hall sensor. The burner smell went away after we replaced that sensor. I checked it with an ohm meter and it was reading infinity on one of the pins.

Look like this is solved as there are tons of ice cubes now and they are not freezing together anymore. So i assume the valve was leaking. There is a small pinhole and the icecile is less than an inch. It is bearable now and no ice is freezing. The tempature is  -10F so that is all correct. Thanks everyone for helping and it has gone a whole day no issues as before it would only go an hr or two at the most.
