Yep, i think so, i even made a start cable and got the same hum and no start. I am starting to think, its toast.

Wouldnt my compressor ohm reading be bad though? I am getting 4,8 and 12 ohms. I read that they should be 2.5 ohms but dont know this for sure.

Eurkea! thanks to your help, i got it working. there was a baby's sock in the impeller of the pump and had jammed it up. whats weird is how did a sock get in there and whats more, my kids are 6 and 8 and this was a sock during their infancy. wow. anyway, pulled it with some needle nose, put it back together and it all works fine again

i really, really appreciate your help. thanks

OK- I can get it to agitate and do everything but drain.  Where would I check for an obstruction?  disconnect the hose into the pump?

OK, I removed the cabinet, unlcipped the pump and now the controls work.  I can get it spin and fill but not drain.

I will check on the agitate but it keeps trying to fill water and the basket is about full.  I'll cut off the water and see....

Yep, green. I'll look that up.... Thanks
Oooh lovely a recall. I will verify the numbers and then guess I should call the GE consumer hot line?

Wonder if they would pay to have it replaced or best i can hope for is for free parts?
