Well, kirby, them's real nice words an' all but you're a Grasshoppah and it doesn't cost a dime to join and post questions here as a Grasshoppah. If you felt inspired to support this site, you could either upgrade to Apprentice and get service manuals and lots of other goodies or make a love-offering to my flavorite charity.

AHA!! I was an apprentice, but my Apprenticeship has expired and I didn't even notice!

Well, I'm going to go sign up again right now, just to say thanks. :)

EDIT: There, I'm a PermaPrentice now! Thanks for your service!

Fantastic. Thank you very much.

This membership was the best money I ever spent. Hands down, bar none.

In Topic: Tips for re-installing the circulation pump in a Bosch SHU3032UC/12 dishwasher

Got it!!

When I replaced the impeller housing under the impeller, I rotated it and clicked it into place, THEN tried to install the motor.

However, there is a key on the pump housing and a slot in the impeller housing that need to line up, and because I locked the impeller housing in place, they didn't line up once I rotated the pump to fit it in place. Does that make sense?

Anyway, by keeping the impeller housing loose and then trying to install the pump, it fit and rotated easily. Then both the impeller housing and the pump clicked into place simultaneously and everything looks great. Now that I see how it all fits together, it's rather obvious... (duh)

Off to test for leaks.

It's a SHU3032UC/12.

I removed the pump motor, replaced the impeller in the motor (including the gasket, the impeller, the spacer) and now I'm trying to put the pump motor back on. Essentially the reverse of the last step of page 36 of the repair manual.

I already checked that the spacer was on the right way, and that the gasket is in the right place.

It just won't go in far enough to rotate. I can see how it would, by compressing the gasket tightly so that the gasket really fits well, but pressing hard enough to compress the gasket seems difficult.

I'll go try the soap, perhaps it's just not rotating easily.

Thanks!!

Awesome. Thanks for the information. Please excuse my n00bness.

I'm about to order the parts. I'm either going to make a very large leaky paperweight and buy a new dishwasher, or fix my dishwasher.

Wish me luck.
