Frigidaire ATF6700FS1 washer won't spin, has E23 error

18 October 2011 - 08:48 AM

The washer won't spin, and the clothes are wet. When it comes time for the spin, all the lights go out and the cycle completely ends. I thought it might be a failed door switch since that's a common problem on this model. However, when I hold the Start and Cancel buttons for a few seconds, I get "E23" in the display.

According to a Frigidaire Washer Tech Sheet I found, which I believe is for my washer, it says, "Drain pump relay on control board failed - replace control board." Before I drop $140 on a board, I'd like to check in with the people who are more experienced - I am just a homeowner.
Does this make sense? How do I know it's not the pump, for example?
Thanks!

-Dave
