In Topic: GE Range/Double Oven Model # PB970SM1SS

it acts like it's finished pre-heating, control will still show temp but when you open the oven they find it only warm not at specified temp.

When I replaced the upper oven control board I put it on bake at about 400, stayed for about 20 minutes to ensure it worked.  Evaluated temps while it preheated and then watched it cycle off and on to ensure relays were firing once at desired temp.  All seemed to work and I thought we had it fixed. Customer called yesterday to state its not working again.  I'm ordering a new bake element to take with me just in case bake elem. is out.  But I'm guessing at this point.  A new main control is $400 so I don't want to go that route unless I'm a little more sure.

I believe it can cause the motor to fail because the customer waited until the motor burned out, then called me for repair.

I hope the new motor doesn't burn out before I get the new parts, they are running the dryer like crazy because the are a family of 6 with laundry piling up.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I think you are right, I went back and removed the blower assy and placed my foot on motor and started her up. Sure enough, without the blower installed the motor ran quiet as could be. I'm ordering me a new blower and motor bracket.

Thanks again!
