ok mr kdog, did some poking around. traced the wires from the lid switch. gray goes to clip on overload. white goes to a splice where it is joined by two other white wires, and continues to a connector at the hot water inlet. the green/yellow is grounded under a screw. all wires appear to be fine, no cuts, burn marks, or bare wire and seem to be fitted in connectors good. what do i check now? awaiting your reply o grand wizzard kdog

ok after reading some previous posts, i have conflicting readings. just checked again- blue wire at harness to metal tub - 122, blue wire at harness to incoming gray at overload - 123, and blue at harness to white on overload that disappears into windings - .001. when i first check the blue to gray i got an 8, so touched the two probes together, went to .004 then tried again and got the 122. Is that why i got 8 the other day because i didnt touch the two probes together first? And can the overload be replaced or do i need to get new motor?

did some rechecking and found 122 volts from blue wire to ground, then from blue wire to gray (the incoming wire clipped on overload) momentarily showed 14. I then checked to ground again, then back to the overload and it showed 122. Really confused now

no agitate, spin, nothing. just hear motor hum? then a click then nothing. sounds like kdog is closing in on problem. One big problem is he is having to try to talk me thru the process and i am not knowledgeable at electricity/electronics. give me a bandsaw and watch me go
