Kitchenaid Superba (KSRS25QDWH01) ice chute flapper won't close

02 October 2011 - 12:18 PM

I expect that this has been covered on the forum before but I couldn't find it.
The flapper for the ice chute in our freezer door does not close. The lever to deliver ice still works, but there is no resistance like there used to be.

I think I've read that it could be a solenoid and a spring or something, but I don't know how to take the door apart to change the broken pieces.

Any help would be extremely appreciated!

Kitchenaide Superba ice chute flapper won't close

I imagine this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it...
The flapper door for the ice maker in our Superba (KSRS25QDWH01) will not close at all. We have blocked the chute with a towel when we're not using it. When we use the ice dispenser, the lever provides no resistance.
Can somebody please let me know how to fix this?
