Topics I've Started

07 April 2015 - 05:40 PM

From the orange wire to ground shows continuity on the control board I checked these wires at the control board and got continuity and I just was wondering should there be continuity between these two points ?Also if I unhook the neutral wire from the board the single neutral wire over in the corner then continuity is lost but if I reattached the neutral wire then I once again gained continuity between the orange wire on the rely and the green wire at ground.

kenmore elite / stubborn bearing

01 February 2015 - 02:29 PM

. Look at all the grease/rust, she just kept using it even after it started the growling noise. beat on this thing for 30 minutes, never could get the outer race of the inner bearing out. Finally I just ordered the outer tub. I had to stop the noise, because im sure the customer was beginning to question my ability to finish the job.

gss25irfr ww / compressor,defrost, and evap. fan/ cntl.bd. problem ?

16 December 2014 - 01:26 PM

Refrigerator in question,
1) Compressor does not turn off when thermostat is turned to "0FF"
2)defrost comes on when jumpered at cntl. bd.( so cutout and heater are o.k.)
3)evap. fan not working/ at cntl. bd. I got only 5vdc( should be 13 vdc)
4)all thermisters good

Is measuring dc voltage a critical step in troublshooting thermisters at cntl. bd. ?
How should i go about it. Ex. J1-5 shows 5vdc, at which other pin should i place my other meter lead?
One more thing, my j1 terminal/ connector also has a fat solid white wire that i dont see on the diagam?

lfx25961al / compressor or refrigerant leak?

06 June 2014 - 12:49 PM

this unit only has frost on top coil of evaporator, compressor pulling about 1.2 amps(is this normal amps for a unit with low refrigerant) or is it possibly a weak compressor?

Kenmore Elite Washer model #79631512210/ ie error code

26 February 2014 - 04:52 PM

customer says washer fills too slowly , and then ie error code pops up usually toward the end of the cycle. I went out and checked continuity of water valves and all seemed fine. Voltage (12 vdc ) was present at each valve when it should be. I checked voltage during diagnostic mode....t4,t5,and t6 i think were the water valve initiation numbers, but any way there was 12 vdc present when each valve was selected.

There is a hard water problem at this residence and the customer says it gets ugly if the salt runs low. Which she said had happened a couple of times lately. Wondering if there might be sediment in the valve not(intermittently) allowing the the valve to open. Screens in valve were clean with minor sediment around the outer edge of screen.
