Hey kdog,

Just to mention that I couldn't buy the arm from you - I would have, but I do not live in the US, I live in the UK and as far as I understand you do not ship other than US and Canada. But I do appreciate the help here guys!

Hi all,

Today I put my mobile into a watertight container and filmed a rinse cycle. Everything is fine, I was just mixing up the sounds coming out from the machine. The "water splashing in the same place" is the water coming out from the upper nozzle, and both arms work perfectly.

Sorry for wasting bandwidth!

Well, I've got a new mains cable and the dishwasher is up and running!

Thanks

#215466 Bosch SGS09A08GB/11 advanced maintenance now I've opened it

Hello everybody.

Yesterday I heard a loud BANG and my second-hand dishwasher stopped working in a cloud of white smoke. The breaker tripped.

Today I dismantled it and found that - thankfully - it's just the condenser fitted in the mains connector. It has leaked and it short circued the mains - BTW, I cannot find a mains assembly for my model, can I just get another that is supposed to be for another bosch? They look like the same. Fifth picture from left.

I am going to replace it shortly.

But now that my dishwasher is open, is there any maintenance I can do? It is incredibly hard to service - no experience on dishwasher though - if the main pump had gone I wouldn't know how to replace it without dismantle the entire unit.

But the dishwasher has always been a bit smelly and I saw some dirt inside what a website calls "heat exchanger" that maybe needs some attention? Attached a picture, first and second from left.

Also, I can see some leak from a brown thing on top which I ignore the purpose. Third and fourth picture from left.

I also have some new softener resins that may be good for replacing the existing ones, but - really - I do not have any idea how to access the bottom of the unit, it seems not so easy to do.

Anything else I can have a look into? I am quite good at DIY, my field is just very different!

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
