GS6NVEXSL01 Ice Maker Auger problems

02 September 2012 - 02:28 PM

Hey guys, I have a whirlpool gold SxS ice maker with the bin in the door and the auger motor does not turn on. The shaft is fairly well rusted and wouldn't come out and was seized up(would not turn in either direction. CCW or CW) I did check for power to the motor but I wasn't getting 110 VAC but it seemed every time I pressed the button for the ice the ice flapper would come on and open, but the motor would not turn nor hum. My meter was registering a small amount in voltage change after I would call for ice, I just did not get very accurate readings.

I had the refrigerator on, door closed, and was testing the connection to the auger motor with the connection to the auger motor unplugged. Any ideas? By the amount of corrosion on the motor and the shaft not coming out I'm guessing maybe a replacement for the motor?

samsung RS267TDBP Refrigerator Defrost Issue + Service manual request

04 April 2012 - 07:41 PM

Hi, guys I got another samsung SxS with the same type problem as a french door model I had last week. I'm going to try to attach the image I took with my phone. Anyways it accumulates ice build up on the evap line coming into the fridge(fridge side not freezer) and builds up enough to cause it to hit the fan. which in turn stops the fridge from cooling. I defrosted it for them while i ordered some parts but the two big issues I have is:

1. No service manual* and I could not get it to go into a manual defrost

2. Heater, bimetal, and fuse all ohm out as working(about 99.9-101ohms on heater)

I dont like working on samsung but I have a decent customer base due to it and no one else will touch them here.
Defrost issue

*I have ordered a service manual on CD and would like for you guys to put in the stash so others may use it. Of course after I recieve it.

samsung RF265ABBP French Door ice build up.

30 March 2012 - 09:59 AM

Hi, I once again have another samsung refrigerator. The complaint was the refrigerator side was at 50+ degrees F and so after I get there and pull the back off I find the fan blocked with ice and a massive chunk of ice built up on the top right corner above the evap coil. The Bimetal checked out okay and the defrost element but I was unsure of the reading on the sensor and at the time did not have a way to get it into defrost mode. The rest of the evap coil had a nice even pattern for frost and the freezer was working great(-6 degrees F) I'm a little stumped. I was unsure if it was a defrost issue as the whole coil hadn't really been frosted up but really only the top layer and the suction line area on the evap coil at the top.

Your help is appreciated

Samsung RS2630SH/XAA wont make ice

16 February 2012 - 09:29 PM

Hi, i am a service tech and i am getting more and more calls for samsung as im the only guy in town that will even try to repair them here. I am successful in most of the repairs but some still stump me from time to time.

Anyways, I have a customers sxs with M# RS2630SH that will not make ice unless the test button is pressed. It will twist the tray, rotate back and forth an call for more water which it fills and will dump the "test" ice, but does not continue to cycle. I do not like just changing parts in hopes i fix it but I could not find anything wrong with any parts so I have installed a new ice maker, H2O valve, and filter. the light on the front does not say "ice off" or anything obvious like that and it still wont make ice. I am under the impression it may be the control board but was hoping maybe you guys could help me out a bit.

Now the ORIGINAL call was "wont make ice and the middle of the fridge is warm". I found a faulty condensor fan(very common problem), repaired and everything was back to normal except the ice maker issue which is an ongoing issue.

I finally became a member after using this site a bit and am looking forward to becoming a active participating member.
