Looking for advice on Jenn-Aire JGS8850ADS ribbon cable problem

28 February 2012 - 11:29 PM

We have a Jenn-Air gas oven, model JGS8850ADS and recently started getting an F1-8 error code. The error seemed somehow related to the meat probe. I removed the front panel and checked the ribbon cable between the PCB and the front faceplate pad. There was 0 resistance between pins 10&14 (Pad 3?) and pins 6&10 (Convect Warm?). We couldn't care less about the meat probe working, but are looking to get our oven back up and running as well as the electirc igniters for the burners. Any suggestions for a low-cost remedy to the problem? We're not really looking to buy and try swapping out the control panel and/or ECU and finding out that the replaced part wasn't the root cause of the problem.

Thanks in advance.
