Kenmore 110.66862500 tripped breaker, shot sparks, now dead

20 April 2012 - 02:40 PM

Put a load of laundry in the dryer at lunch today and tio my dismay the on button did nothing. Checked the breaker and it had tripped. I reset the breaker. Then when I powered the dryer on it ran for about a half a second then three or four sparks shot out of it (I beleive in the aread of the timer knob). She is now dead.

So glad this forum here.... :rocker:

Kenmore 110.66862500 Dryer comes on and shuts off

09 April 2012 - 05:34 PM

Recently switched out dryers and with this new Kenmore had to get a replacement 3 prong cord. I noticed the cord didn't have red, white, and black marked so I'm not sure if that's part of my problem or not. The drum spins fine. When you press start it works for about 10 seconds then shuts off and you have to wait awhile for it to work again.

Thoughts? (So glad these forums are here)...Thanks!
