Frigidaire Gas Dryer drum not turning

28 March 2014 - 10:22 AM

My motor was failing on my Frigidaire dryer Model FSG747GES1 so I replaced the motor on this dryer with a used, tested motor. While I had the machine apart, I decided to replace the rear drum bearing and the belt (thanks for the quick delivery, btw!) The motor seems to work fine but now the belt seems to slip. I used the idler pulleys that came with the new-used motor. Is there not enough tension on the belt? Are new belts longer? Very frustrating. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Frigidaire Gas dryer FSG747GES1 won't always start

30 July 2013 - 11:05 AM

My Frigidaire Gas dryer will sometimes faile to start when you turn the "Start" knob. There is a humming noise when the knob is turned and it stops when the knob is released. This happens most often when there is a large load. To get it going I usually open the door and rotate the drum a bit and it will usually start. It's almost like there isn't enough "oomph" to get the drum going.

Frigidaire FWT449GFS2 front loader spins out of balance

30 July 2013 - 10:52 AM

I have a Frigidaire front-loading washer that is spinning as if the drum is out of balance. I tried shutting it off and re-arranging the clothes but it still shakes like crazy. Any thoughts?

BTW, is there a "search" function for the forum? I couldn't find one...

Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS01DJSB0

12 July 2011 - 07:33 PM

The saga of this POS dishwasher continues:
As I was standing next to the dishwasher I smelled that burning electrical smell. I looked down and saw wisps of smoke from the upper right hand portion of the control panel. The dishwasher kept running. I shut it down and looked/smelled for issues but found none after a superficial inspection. I turned the dishwasher back on but although it ran, the timer took about 2 hours to progress from 60 to 46. I shut it down, took the control panel off, removed the main control board and saw a large scorch mark on the underside beneath (what I think is) a relay. I assume that I need to replace the board but I wonder if there is anything else I should replace? Advice?

Thanks again for the help!

Kitchenaid Refrigerator KSRB25FKBL00 side x side

03 March 2010 - 04:38 AM

My KA side x side refrigerator door doesn't close on its own like it used to.  In the past it had a self-closing action but it doesn't do it anymore.  Although a little nudge from the person closing the door easily fixes the problem, it would be nice to have the self-closing function back.  Can you tell me the issue?
