So the water pressure and volume dropped significantly over the last month or so. Or maybe it just got so low that it's more noticeable now, but the culprit is definitely the water softener. Took it all apart and found the bottom filter plugged up nicely. After cleaning all the gunk out of the tanks I've decided to replace the resin. Stock from Sears is expensive but I see a lot of replacement type resin. The repair manual says 'high capacity resin' but I've found only regular and fine mesh resins. Don't exactly know the difference. Can I purchase the correct resin here?
Today my washing machine is starting to act up. It appears that it spins too slow. If I move it back and forth by hand it feels tight but after a couple of back and forth turns, it frees up a bit, but not for long. I had reports of a burning type smell, but I did not smell this myself.
My conclusion is that the clutch is shot and binding. What I'm looking for is a confirmation that this is the likely culprit for this type of problem.
Problem is with a Maytag MTF2656EEW, there is no water dispensed to the icemaker. The water valve works out of the unit, but not when connected. I've looked through the files and not found a repair manual. If there is one available under this make/model or another similar unit can someone point me to it? Or any other pointers, for that matter.
