#312873 FPHD2481KF1 - FRIGIDIARE DISHWASHER - MULITPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS

Posted by Tone Blair on 06 February 2015 - 11:25 PM

Installed new computer today, all checked out good, fingers crossed no call backs.
So what I think was happening was the turbidity sensor wasn't installed correctly at the factory, and the water leak corroded the sensor and connector and eventually shorted main computer.
I didn't catch the sensor leaking before, so it shorted out the new computer I previously installed.
This time I installed new sensor, cleaned up the wire connector as good as possible, even though it were a little worn still.
Everything worked out good, however when running on quick cycle, which on low soil it's only supposed to be 50 min, it jumped up to 99+ min, which the water was pretty clean, so I'm thinking the connector isn't making a great connection, but working still.
I doubt the customer would want to go with a new wire harness, so unless I hear back from the customer, I'm calling it fixed.

Chat_FL....

Well, what can I say? I gotta be the dumbest person ever!
Door switches good, my plugging them back in, bad!

After all that, I didn't plug the neutral wires back in properly, one of the spades was outside of the connector!
Plugged back in, all is well!

Yea, hopefully no call backs on it, it was a pain, but definitely went smoother than I expected, and although I would do it again, I don't mind if I don't see one for awhile!

Thanks for all the help and insight!

happy to report that the repair is complete and as far as I can tell it's working properly.
I must of got lucky because it ended up going smooth as possible, it took about 3 hours, and good ole Ge even give you a squirt bottle to make sure the pan drains fine. Thanks for telling about the drain tube kinking up so I paid extra attention to that.
Fingers crossed no call backs!

WA5451anw/xaa 02

8e error code. Mems sensor error

Fast track says to check output of mems, not sure how to do that or where to test.
Tested harness, was getting continuity.

Is this a bad sensor? Sub PCb? Or main PCb? Or something completely different?

Fairbank - agreed, unfortunately im in the lack of skills category, so if you could offer some practical advice that would be great. I looked at the schematic, might aswell be latin.
So, any suggestion? Other pointing out the obvious?
