Kitchenaid fridge water dispenser leaking. KBRA20ELSS01

17 July 2014 - 01:01 PM

Couple months ago customer complaining about freezer not closing and wanted gasket replaced, gasket seemed fine, but replaced it anyway.

Month ago, call back, still not sealing properly, go back, door wasn't seated in tracks properly, defrosted ice build up, cool, closing and sealing right.

2 weeks ago, freezer freezing up, door not sealing.

When I was checking it out, I noticed the ice maker was clicking, trying to rotate, but couldn't because of ice build up from door not closing. I freed the ice maker, shut the ice maker off, while the ice maker was shut off, I heard a water valve energize. Let me repeat, the ice maker was off, I had freezer door open, I could see that no water was coming into ice maker.

I opened the food door and sure enough, water was pouring out of water dispenser, and once the valve stopped being energized the water flow stopped. I'm just tripping out? What could be energizing the water dispenser valve? I checked the micro switch that activates the water dispenser, seemed to be working fine.
After I discovered this, I could see that water was sure enough spilling into the freezer, creating a ball of ice on the top shelf of the freezer, and eventually preventing the freezer door from closing all the way and sucking in warm air.

Should I replace the valve? Or is this some weird electrical thing going on?

Subzero Fridge model 590 - Icemaker water valve & drain pan heater

09 July 2014 - 08:57 PM

So this is like the 2nd sub zero Ive ever touched ever, not too bad.

The freezer evaporator drain pan was full of ice, got it defrosted, checked the pan heater, it didnt seem to be getting warm at all, and i tested for resistance, it was less than 1ohm, so I'm assuming its bad???  The actual drain heater was good, and the evap heater was good.

Are the heaters only on during defrost?

Also, the ice maker water valve doesn't seem to be letting enough water into the ice maker, I know it can be the water pressure, but how do you change the valves? Im assuming its on the bottom?? Is it fairly easy? Or a pain?

Thanks guys, trying not to make a fool of myself when I go back

Bosch dishwasher SHX3AR75UC/10

11 June 2014 - 12:05 AM

So this dishwasher seems like a mystery to me.
It seemed like it was acting erratic.
The drain motor seemed like it was trying to work, but I feel like it had debris in it, I was trying to check for voltage at the drain pump, but I wasn't been sure if it was 120v or 12v.
I checked resistance and it was reading good.

Sometimes it would just completely freeze up and the power button wouldn't work, nothing would work.
What's the best way to test these type of door switches? I read about the magnet thing, but is there a voltage check, or resistance check I can do?

I don't know what the hell I was doing....

Anybody got any insight on these? Or routine things that go wrong on these?
Sorry for the ridiculous explanation.

Fisher Paykel DD605I Top drawer not finishing cycle.

Fisher Paykel DD605I Top drawer not finishing cycle.

First off, I dont know what the hell im doing.

Did some testing, not sure if I did it right or not, but I ended up replacing the heater plate and the controller for the top.

I ran it for a bit, but was trying to get the hell outta there before my cover was blown.

If the computer and heater doesnt solve it, could it be a bad main pcb??

Sorry for being an idiot!!

The tub to pump hose is just kinda sliding off too, the customer used a worm hose clamp on it, and it's still sliding off.

I guess this happens a lot with this model, looks like the drain pump has been discontinued??

Is there a replacement?

Anyone else deal with this??
