In Topic: Bosch Dishwasher SHE6AF06UC/05 leaks and won't complete cycle

10 December 2012 - 10:29 PM

Thanksgiving prep and two weeks of vacation killed any plans for appliance repair I may have had in November, but I was able to get around to replacing the hinges this past weekend, and...

IT WORKS!!!

After removing them and comparing to the new hinges, it was easy to tell that the old hinges were noticeably sprung.  We've been able to run four complete cycles with no leaks, starting/stopping, or strange timer issues.  My best guess is that the earlier timer issues had something to do with the "smart cycle management" system having conflicts with the repeated starting/stopping and leaking.

I've consulted the forums several times for help with other minor appliance repairs (and found the knowledge invaluable), but this is the first time I've actually logged on and asked the enlightened ones for assistance.  All I can say is, WOW - what a great group of people you have here on the forum!  Many, MANY thanks to all of you who responded and provided guidance!

Well, after a long week, finally got to the dishwasher earlier today. Was definitely out of level - but unfortunately, levelling it did not solve the issue. Still stopping several times a cycle and having timer issues.

The hinges are on order, and I will be attempting to replace them Wednesday night - hoping for the best!

Thanks to all for your quick replies! Going to start by releveling tomorrow night as I do think that's off - though the dishwasher is properly centered and not touching the cabinet. I've pulled it out and reinstalled it myself twice this past week while checking hinges, so I'm fairly sure of that at least.

I'll touch base again after spending a little more quality time with the d/w... :-)
