Perhaps the flow meter? There are tons of posts here related to the f20 error though...

Sounds like the drain pump is bad or blocked. Sometimes there are little kid socks or underwear in the pump. Best to replace the pump because even if it is blocked, sometimes they will leak after you remove the blockage.

I'm replacing the thermistor on the evaporator and then the cover.

We most likely have the same problem.

#269883 You Think You Have Seen It All and Then....

I have some Crazy repairs...... Anyone else run into crazy situations?

My day started with a fridge that's not cooling properly,

I open up the freezer and quickly ascertain that the evap fan is not working but the inside of the freezer smells Fresh! Fresh like clothes straight out of the dryer.

I pull the back panel off to replace the evap fan and see that something is cuaght up in the fan. Low and behold its a stack of dryer sheets! After talking to the customer she claimed to like the smell so she wanted her fridge to smell like that and shoved the dryer sheets in there up at the top of the freezer section! Then ask do I have to pay for this? LOL hell yes!

#268754 Viking DDBB363G - Fridge too warm (40+ degrees)

Posted by KCTBURY on 19 September 2013 - 07:24 PM

Check Freezer temp by putting thermometer in a glass of water overnight.

May seem cold but might not be cold enough.

The condenser fan blows onto the condenser coils which get pretty dusty on these guys.

The Coils need to be cleaned thoroughly and make sure the condenser fan is blowing.

Home inspector didn't catch this?

#268689 whirlpool washer model wtw6400sw2, banging then "UL"

Just fixed one of these today.

It is usually the suspension rods that get rusted and need to be replaced.

#261725 Ge Fridge - GSH25JFXB BB - Freezing in food section.

Posted by KCTBURY on 21 July 2013 - 02:58 AM

I would test the thermistors with an ohm meter at the board. They should test 16.3k ohms at 32 degrees.

Unplug j1 from board

put your black lead in wire 5 on the j1 plug

test Freezer Evap. red lead 4th wire

Freezer compartment red lead 3rd wire

Refrigerator sides wire 2 and then wire 1

I generally replace the evap one when there are odd problems because it goes through extreme temp changes.

#261723 Sub Zero 632S control board trouble

Posted by KCTBURY on 21 July 2013 - 02:37 AM

Thermistor-4204150-00908808.jpg

Manufacturer Number 4204150

Check refrigerator compartment thermistor to j1 on the board for continuity and resistance at 30k to 33k ohms at 32 degrees.

Do the same for the refrigerator evaporator thermistor and the freezer compartment and the freezer evaporator thermistors.

This fridge has a robust diagnostics center  here is a link http://www.njsubzero...bleshooting.pdf

Put a thermometer in a glass of water and put it in the freezer. Wait 24 hours and tell us the temp.

#259028 Samsung WF218ANWXAA flange shaft replacement

Posted by KCTBURY on 24 June 2013 - 08:19 PM

The parts that are breaking on samsungs appliances are failing way too soon.

If you were using the correct amount of HE soap.

You need to disassemble the tub and see if the flange shaft is broken. You probably need bearings and maybe even an outer tub. Im not even sure if they sell the bearings separate from the rear tub.

There are 6 bolts that hold the flange shaft to the inner tub. To access the flange you have to remove the otter tub. The outer tub will open to the inner tub. You have to practically take the whole washer apart to remove the tub.  The stator (motor) has a bolt into the rear of the flange. Take a lot of pictures.  This is one of the harder repairs to do.

I would pull it apart and see whats broken. It may change your mind on repair.

#258340 Custumer refuses to pay for diagnostics.

I get paid my fees upfront;> Diagnostics and deductibles or co-pays. There seems to always be someone that wants to steal your services.
