The unit needs about 24 hours to reach normal operating temperatures. It will run a lot until then. It will run a lot after that also. If you are sitting and listening and waiting for it to cut out it will seem to you that it never does. If it's cooling properly I wouldn't worry about it.

You want about 0*F in the freezer and 37*F in the freshfood section. If you have those temperatures it's okay.
