just to update this topic, it was a ground issue at the place they were at, brought to the shop they worked fine. the didnt fix their issue there but after a day went by, they went back to normal. these things are strange but they work fine now, just for future reference if you get caught up in one of these machines be sure to have that service manual first thing.

it might be an error code, when you pull the refrigerator out there is a sticker on the back that tells you what the digits are.

iv had a couple of appliance monkeys put these in and forget to plug the door switch back in at the top, not the magnetic one but the one that you can physically press. that'll cause it as well

no they werent flared connections, it was an old dishwasher connector actually. looked like it came out of a toolbox after 30 years of being shuffled around.

boom! figured it out. everything was correct so i told the cust to bring in the connection he was using on his house, the connectors were from the 60's with no kind of sealer.
