Thanks to the Sublime Master of Apliantology, I focused on the silly door switch.  I put in a new light bulb so I could test the door switch.  With a working light bulb, when I pressed the door switch, the light stayed on, so I just ordered a door switch.  Hopefully, I can use my PRM skills to get it in.  Maybe I should order two because my 5 year old loves to press that button to turn the light off and on while I fold laundry...I'll be using clothes pins until Friday when the part comes.

So now am thinking the door catch is different than the door switch, since there are are no wires on the one I just took out, really feeling like a monkey....
