#313135 Best (brand) range hood WT32I422SB (or possibly 5B) issue

Posted by Spannerwrench on 10 February 2015 - 03:48 PM

Here's the wiring diagram, although I don't think you need to stick a different thermal sensor on that model,  I believe it's built into the control.  I've seen that on a few Best (Broan) hoods before, sometimes they would just turn on in the middle of the night.

#313059 GE ref GSS22IBTGWW - too cold in ref (logger graphs)

Refrigerator Main Control Board Replacement and Cutting J1 pin 2.

Questions are often asked about cutting the wire in J1 pin 2 when replacing the main control

board on certain models of refrigerators. There is only one situation that requires the wire to be

cut:

If the refrigerator main board is mounted vertically, AND there are wires in both

pin 1 and pin 2 of J1, Cut the wire in J1 pin 2.

Note: When cutting the wire, leave enough wire to reconnect if necessary!

• There are no other situations that require J1 pin 2 to be cut.

• Many main boards look alike, always check the part number in IPC before installing.

Oh, you have Tranny problems.  Are you hanging out in New Orleans again?

I would look up the installation manual and make sure the installers are following it to the tee..

#312824 Kitchenaid dishwasher 25 year warranty on tank - KUDJ230Y0

Posted by Spannerwrench on 06 February 2015 - 04:13 PM

I would have never got rid of that Hobart built KitchenAid dishwasher.  I would have mended, bonded or epoxied that tub and kept it running for as long as I could.  I've done that with a few customers in the past.  Just because you get a new one doesn't mean that you get the same quality product that lasted you 25 years.  I have advised my customers of this and they choose for me to fix their old unit rather than go through the process of getting them a new unit.

Just my opinion...

Also if the racks are starting to rust on those old dishwashers, they can be fixed as well, just a little bit of work and re-coating them with a teflon, plastic or rubber coating.

#312823 Manual and Installation Instructions J D14A1GR, GE Wall Oven

Posted by Spannerwrench on 06 February 2015 - 04:01 PM

There is no load, just the weight of the door when it opens, and the racks when open with food on them.  Most likely the weight of the oven itself would counter balance that, the screws are just extra benefit and would be fine if screwed into any decent cabinetry.

#312681 Customers "great" idea

Posted by Spannerwrench on 04 February 2015 - 06:07 PM

All kidding aside, I can understand this with an elderly person or someone with a bad back.  My Granny had a Sub-Zero bottom mount for about 25 years, still working but we replaced it due to cosmetic damage.  (Shelves and everything else were looking bad).  She insisted on a bottom mount because it was easier on her back and the heavier freezer items she keeps in a one of two upright freezers.

So I understand how it may be easier to step on a stool than to bend over, for example, I  don't mind at all walking up stairs, but going down I cringe in pain every step I take.

Quit using aftermarket part, only OEM, and only parts that are listed in the IPL for the model you're working on...

#312433 Voicemail messages

My "favorites" are the ones who have the call waiting music/muzak when you call in "Please enjoy this ringback tone while your party is reached..." followed by tinny midi classical music or some god awful part of some song placed at ear-piercing levels. Worse than the voice mails for sure...

I get a lot of bible-thumping voice mails around here though myself. Bible belt and all. And tons of christian custom license plates, e.g., PRZEHIM, BLSDONE, GVETHKS, etc.

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. So leave your Christian message at the beep and praise Gawd and have a truly blessed Christian day!"

OMG!!! I'm gonna die a horrible  painfull death.  These are the ones I leave the sound of porno playing i9n the background.

That's a great tip, I very rarely print anything in color, yet the color ink disappears the fastest (at least on my HP Envy), it's great to know I can bypass if needed when I don't have time to go get ink.

One of the better ways I've found to get a manual # is from the IPL.
