In Topic: LG LDF6810 ST shows HE error code

I put the Rev M board back in and it's working fine. It was the connector issue the whole time giving me grief after I replaced the burned out element. :wallbash:

Anyone want to buy a used but working fine 6871DD1006Q for cheap?

Forgot to add that I wouldn't at all be surprised that the website would be in error.

And always measure from the BACK of the connector.

That's a valuable reminder for me.

Thanks for the info John63. Appreciate the time you spent in replying.

Here is a photo of the Rev Q controller and it's box label. Clearly marked as compatible with LDF6810. Is this a misprint? What do you think?

In any case, looks like I figured out the problem.I was putting the Rev M board back in, when I spotted signs of arcing on the RD3 harness connector that goes to the heating element.

In all my testing, I would stick the ohmmeter probe into the female spade connector on the wire harness to take measurements. It was snug, but didn't really take any force to stick the probe in there.

It appears the rolled part of the female spade connector was opened a bit by the probe and wasn't making good contact when plugged into the board. I closed them back up with some needle-nose pliers. Just ran a cycle and heated as it should.

Always check the obvious stuff first, eh?

Thanks for the assistance!

Tim

Thanks PDuff,

Serial number of dishwasher is 803KWHX00081. Wire harness is not stuck to the insulation and shows no wear. I suppose I could ohm it out and see if all is OK.

I just wonder if the element is overheating. Does the Thermistor tell the control board when temp is out of range?

Well, finally got it fixed. The heating element had burned completely through.

Thanks for all the help. Anyone need a new 6871DD1006Q Controller? Only $50!
