I'll check Monday when I get to the shop to see what it did this time but the last few its been open, I forget what the manual/diagram says about differentiating between mag, cap, and transformer but the transformer windings have been open. No smell or cracked magnet previously, and I always change the diode whether it's the call, mag or trans. We also bring them in, makes some customers mad but it's better than trying to find some where to set it and not lose anything.

So it's possible for it to short intermittently? First transformer was about 2 days, second about a week the third over a month before going out. I'm sure usage can affect that but I would have expected the opposite result as the magnetron fails. In any case I'm ordering both and replacing the diode and I'll update if it fails again.

Much appreciated, I downloaded the manual and saw that the screws have to come out. Guess we've just got used to the ones that the whole track can come out door and all. Didn't see anything about the drawer that's in there, is that a similar process?

I'll have to check the rest of the numbers on Tuesday when I get back to the office, the other tech I was with has the paperwork.
