Frigidaire general motoros refrigerator help

04 June 2013 - 11:15 AM

I have an old frigidaire gm refrigerator. I was looking at replacing the compressor and relay. When I plug the unit in it sounds like the compressor trys to turn on then off then on and then off. It then stays off. The model number of the fridge is 5300425. The number on the compressor is 5850776. The tech numbers of the compressor are R 1/8-16
Volts 115
Amps 1.9 2.1
Cy 60 50
I am looking for a replacement for both the compressor and relay that are for R12. A friend of mine who is EPA certified and plan on tinkering around with this. I know that it is not exactly cost effective but the fridge has some personal value to me. Any ideas on an R12 compressor kit and relay ideas? Any help would be great..
