Amana Model # LWA40AW2

09 July 2013 - 09:32 PM

Washer is 14 years old.  Did not spin out after wash cycle.  Took front panel off to examine and saw the belt in very bad shape.  Bot new belt and when preparing to install it I discovered the pump was leaking.  Ordered new pump and installed it along with the new belt.  All is well with the world was my thought until the wife threw in a load of cloths.  The wash cycle went fine even spun out.  Rinse cycle was finishing up and starting to spin as I walked by.  All of a sudden I hear the belt just squealing and smoke filling the room.  I shut the washer down ASAP.   Haven't looked at it as of yet; however found this sight and thought I would ask to see if anyone has an idea as to what happened????
