106.53652300 Compressor Starter location

16 July 2013 - 05:55 PM

Hello,

First post!!! I have a side by side model#106.53652300.  We had a big power outage and the unit stopped working.  Nothing on the control board would light and no motors, fans, or anything worked.  We had a guy come out to check it out and he said it was the control board and showed it to us with 2 burn spots on it.

He told us it would be $400 to replace it, or he would give us $500 and haul it away.  Upon hearing the second part, I said thanks but no thanks.  I later found the control board on Repair Clinic and replaced it for half his cost.  However, the unit still does not have any fans running or cooling happening.  On repairclinic.com, they mention that it could be the Starter for the compressor.

Neither the Fridge or Freezer are very could.

The Control Board has been replaced and all lights work.

No fans running.

Where is the Compressor starter and what else would you recommend I check, and how do you check it.

Thanks so much!
