WM3431HS door latch broke, laundry inside, how do I get this open?

12 November 2013 - 12:10 AM

I went to open the door and the latch itself made a snapping sound, now it will wiggle, but it's not unlatching the door.

I'm pretty good at troubleshooting this machine, and I assume I will need to access this from the front by taking off the front (large) panel----I've done that--I replaced the pump last year.

So is this correct?  I can't picture how I can access that part of the latch from that direction either, which is why I'm asking.

(My raincoat's in there and it's supposed to rain all week, just my luck!)

Thank you.

Mary
