In Topic: 6 Month Old Duet Washer - Multiple Warranty Repair Attempts Failed

31 December 2013 - 03:54 PM

Thank you everyone! I pulled the back of my washer off and found that the pressure hose & its plastic bracket broke loose and was rubbing against the rotor -fraying it. After learning all that I have about washing machines, I am stunned that after three visits from two different guys, A&E didn't figure this out. It seems to me that, based on the symptoms, the pressure hose would have been one of the first items to check. They have already put nearly $500 worth of parts into it, with another $175 worth on order.

Water pressure is good - I can feel very hot water through the hose.

I suspect the pressure hose or airdome is the issue since its unlikely after replacing all parts that have been replaced thus far have not fixed the problem.  Do I have to pull the whole back of the machine off to get full access to the hose?  I am guessing if I do that the this involves separating the tub from the bearing. Put another way, is this a huge pain the butt to do?  Not that I am unwilling.

Thanks!
