LG Dishwasher with a Mysterious bE Error Code

An Appliantologist in the forums ran into a bE error on an LG dishwasher, which perplexed him. In his words:

Quote

ANYBODY RUN INTO THIS ISSUE ON LG DISHWASHER .. BE ERROR CODE.  BUBBLE ERROR .. ?   CUSTOMER STATES IT KILLS CYCLE ABOUT 30 MINUTES INTO RUNNING AND FLASHES BE ...

A bubble error would seem to indicate oversudsing, but our tech said that wasn't the case.

Fortunately, Brother Slav had the answer for us:

Yep, it's a bE error code.

If it's leveled and doesn't have suds, LG says it could be a clogged pump or the top nozzle misaligned/damaged.

Turns out, this so-called "bubble error" can mean all kinds of problems that have nothing to do with suds, such as a leveling issue:

Or a problem with the pump:

Rumor mill on the internets shows installation could be a cause of "bE" too. It would seem alot of people arent installing the drain hose properly, preferring the lower than  700mm position instead of doing the high loop (the printed 700 - 1000mm instruction). It would seem things went well when listening to the instructions.
