Incorrect setting on the back-end. I think I fixed it, try it again and let me know. 

There we go! Now I have the "create a blog" button. I DON'T, however, have a notification when someone replies to my comments on blogs... maybe that's just something I need to check somewhere in my preferences... I'll have to look.

One simple mistake that would be easy to make.  If you set the phone to say the 500 rpm setting but the machine was moving at say 1000 rpm, it would still look like it was giving a good reading.  Just like any good tool, you must know the limitations and parameters of function.

This was method was used by millions of homeowners across the land for like 25 years... to calibrate the speed of their turntables when the record started to sound funny... I still have one of the test patterns you set on the turntable.
