Son of Samurai
Tech Training

Event details

Due to popular request, our special guest presenter Mark Williams is returning to give another rendition of this webinar! He'll show you how easy it is to diagnose temperature problems in the newer electronically-controlled refrigerators and how to do it right the first time.

We'll show you examples from Samsung, LG, GE, Whirlpool, and Electrolux. You'll see that they all work the same way.

You'll see how to accurately test thermistors from the computer control board and you’ll learn the difference between resistance and voltage drop when it comes to testing thermistors.

Who: This webinar is exclusive to our premium members at Appliantology: Professional Appliantologists, Senior Appliantology Fellows, Master Samurai Tech Alumni, and Master Samurai Tech Students.

When: Sunday, October 20th @5:00 PM Eastern Time.

Where: We use join.me for all of our webinars. You must fill out the form linked below to get the connection details. If you only RSVP to this calendar event, you will not receive any connection details.

Also, when you join the webinar, you must enter a name in order to be let in.

How: Connect with your browser, or download the free Join.me app here: https://www.join.me/apps

Here are a couple tips to ensure that the webinars are a smooth, cool experience for you:

1. Arrive early to make sure your connection is working! Also, if you show up late for the webinar, you'll be lost.

2. When you join the webinar, you must enter a name in order to be let in.

3. For the best experience, download the free Join.me app: https://www.join.me/apps

4. Watch this ultra-short video on how to use your Join.me control console while you're in the web meeting because you're gonna wanna do cool stuff like correctly connect your audio (without producing the dreaded echo!) so you and everyone else can hear what the presenter is explaining.

You need to fill out the linked form above in the "Where" section of the event description and the connection details will be automatically sent to you. Be sure to watch the video above. And for best results, download the free Join.me app instead of connecting through your browser. It's very straight forward and the short video above gives you a good idea of what to expect.

This will also be my first meeting. I think I understand that I can get audio through the phone or through the computer (but not both at the same time). Is one way better than another?

Depends on your internet connection. If you have broadband— eg hi speed cable— computer will be fine. If you have dial up, DSL, or satellite, go with phone.

My first webinar as well. I've downloaded JoinMe on both my phone and laptop, per Internetology, but am having an issue clicking on the "link" to fill out form. I RSVP'D already, but can't get through anything to ensure the rest. Suggestions please?

Thanks!

@Rsmalley33 This particular webinar is only available to premium members of Appliantology -- you are currently a Legacy Tech, which is a limited membership. You can look at our premium membership options here to see if one works for you:

In fact, looks like you qualify for the MST Student membership, since you enrolled in our course bundle at Master Samurai Tech a few months ago! You can apply for that by following the instructions on that page.

Mine says 4:00 - 5:00 and I’m CST, so it starts 3pm your time.

Also, I’m unable to attend this webinar yet again... I do hope that efforts will be made to record and upload later?

The header adjusts to the time zone you set in your profile. The “When” section of the event details are explicit about it being Eastern Time. Also look at the connections  details when you fill out the linked form— it’s explicit about start time.

We always make efforts but sometimes the Join.me gods don’t play nice. Like the first time we gave this, the audio was unusable. We never know how the recording will come out until we listen to it.

Thanks buddy!

So sorry to keep kicking a dead horse, so to say, but I thought that once I enrolled in the MST Academy and became a student I automatically got access to the perks mentioned for said membership. I wasn't aware that I had to do something different, especially since I already have an Appliantology membership (Legacy, I know) and am a paid Academy Student. I figured that these things would automatically recognize each other. So what am I missing, and how do I go into the MST members arena and sync these settings? This is a tad bit confusing bro.

Also, since I get "x" amount of time of Premium membership at Appliantology since I'm an MST student, since I haven't synced these two services, does my Premium membership start from the time I get all this taken care of, or did it start from the day I paid $1500 and since i didn't do something right I've lost all that time?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The MST Student membership is intended as a "bonus feature" of enrolling in the courses at Master Samurai Tech. It's there for people who want it and think that they will make use of what Appliantology has to offer. That's one reason why the upgrade doesn't happen automatically -- we don't want to just throw memberships around willy-nilly. We want to give them to people who are actually interested in participating in the Appliantology community.

The other reason why it's not automatic is because we want students to first take the Appliantology 101 course at Master Samurai Tech before applying for it -- that's why the MST Student membership request form can only be found in that course. This way, new MST Student members get a jump-start on how to use the site.

No, it's nothing so complicated as all that. Once you go and request your Student membership using the form, you'll get a 6-month term of premium membership starting right when we upgrade you. Easy as that.

Thank you so much for your help sir! I was going to do the Appliantology course (since it was next in line anyway 🙂), but when I first signed up for my bundle it came with an email suggesting in what order I should do my courses, and Appliantology course was at the very end.. I thought this a little weird, but I figured that you guys knew better than I!

Now that I know I'll definitely take the Appliantology course asap. I know that I don't post a lot, or upload service manuals very much, but I still keep an eye on my email and would love to participate in the webinars you guys send me invites to!

(And btw, I don't care much for silly willy nilly-ness myself, but I do care a lot about "bonus features"!
