Appliantology Live Dojo

Son of Samurai
Tech Training

Event details

All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in the conversation for all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!

This event is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.

If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here in the calendar entry. We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form

Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Who: This webinar is only available to tech members at Appliantology.

When: Sunday January 29 @4:00 PM Eastern Time.

Where: Online via Zoom

How:

  1. Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now.
  2. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working.
  3. Click the “Set Reminder” button on this page to set a reminder for yourself for this webinar so you don’t miss it.
  4. If you can, turn on your webcam and mic so we can chat as if we were in the same room!

Bring any questions you may have on technical or business problems. If you have a schematic you’d like us to go over, please post or link to a PDF. That way I can put it on my iPad to screen share and markup.

We should discuss ice makers in FF section that cause problems in Maytags and Samsungs. I had a MFI2570FEZ03 in July that had food freezing in crispers, checked that damper is operational, return vents not blocked, thermistor tested OK, watched fridge turn off at 37F. Changed the board, now the owner, a friend of mine, reports it was still freezing lettuce after that and now got a new fridge. He probably thinks now I'm a hack so he never told me it was still doing it back in July after I changed the board. So now I suspect it could've been the icemaker leaking cold air. I *think* I did see an icicle at the icemaker where it meets the rear wall, but it's been 6 months. My brother has a Samsung with rhime ice in icemaker in his Samsung RF30HBEDBSR fridge. Let's discuss ways to fix these problems and which repairs work and which don't
