That looks like what I saw on my first GE dishwasher with the gasket that slides in the channel all the way around the door.

Had to replace the door gasket, my first year in the appliance repair trade and was told by the boss to use a little dishwashing detergent to help slide the gasket in.

Spent much time getting the suds out, didn't know about the oil trick then.
