From my understanding, the newer ones have replacement bearings. Where the older ones you had to change out the entire outter tub. Does anyone know any different.

this kit allows you to replace the bearings in all the oasis/cabrio/bavos washers, not just new ones

How effective is the repair; i.e. what kind of life do you get after? The aluminum shaft (upper right of parts picture) of a customer's washer has a 3-inch rust patch on it; so he's a replacement candidate, right?

I don't have any personal track record with that, but I know several of other techs here at the Academy did this repair early last year and I've not seen any posts about early failure rates.
