  3. I have a Figidaire FPMC2785PF oven that has developed a loud clicking noise. It sounds like something is clicking against a fan or something. This machine was purchased used and I would like to fix it from making noise. Here is a video of the noise. I live in Orange County CA and would either love to have some advice on how to fix or have someone do it for me. Thanks

  12. Hello Fellow Sensei's this young grasshopper has been studying the forums and believe he may have found the issue. my Bosch Stove which loves to break down every now and then seems to not want to "convection" (Fan does not turn on) the oven gets up to temperature, the display shows that cool fan spinning around, however the fan itself does not spin. i am going to go on a limb and say that the fan motor needs to be replaced (because lets face it, what other reason could it be?) can you guys think of any other reasons besides the fan motor going? also a link to the actual "fan motor" in repair clinic would be fantastic. i seem to have found motor, but I think its for the exhaust which I think may be the wrong one at this link https://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Bosch-Range-Stove-Oven-Vent-Fan-Motor/00491576/1052644?ss=a13b129&mr=1 also... a repair guide would be fantastic! drink on my friends. drink on

  14. Door lock is randomly locking and unlocking. when first called to house it was stuck locked. I took out door lock and replaced it. week or so had passed and customer called again complaining of same issue. I replaced EOC. got a call next day it is still doing it. Any ideas?
  15. This range lost functionality on part of the keypad (numbers and timers). We replaced the front panel with keypad and it worked again briefly. At one point there was some kind of noise (I was not around to witness this) and it worked again briefly. The repair part I received from a regional supply house had a suspicious look to the ribbon cable. It was slightly delaminated but had no obvious interaction between leads. I could not find a technical document that might have helped in troubleshooting continuity between leads and the switch circuitry. So we decided to try replacing the control board. No issues were encountered installing it but it did not resolve the problem. Now I'm back to concluding that perhaps the replacement keypad unit was defective. Are there any documents or tips that might assist in troubleshooting this before I go one more step in replace and test?

  19. Hello all! I have a Kenmore gas wall oven, model 911.30465894. This morning while preheating, the oven became very silent. When I started to preheat the oven, the fan came on and then it stopped after a few minutes. The oven continued to increase the heat to the desired temperature. I proceeded with cooking and after a few minutes, the fan came on again. Oven heats and cooks fine. Fan sounds normal when it runs. Fan stops running during cook time. Doesn't seem consistent with what it did prior to today. Prior to today, the fan would stay on until the oven cooled down after cooking. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Whirlpool Oven SF315PEMW1 Oven Died in middle of Thanksgiving Turkey, Stovetop still works. Control board Display Dead, 3 Capacitors Burst. Installed new Control Board, simple install 2 screws (not counting back cover) 3 unique connectors. Lights up with 12:00 displayed for time. Keypad responds as expected to all input. beeps when keys pressed. up down keys change time, timer and temp. Set time to 11:28 (Accurate at the time), hit start flashing : goes steady 20 min later time still shows 11:28 Set timer to 5:00 hit start - stays at 5:00 Set oven to 350, hit start, time shows 10:00 (preheat time) stays at 10:00 oven does not start tried broiler display shows 510 (temp?) oven does not start. I tried many variations of keystrokes, even read the manual, but it seemed the timer never started therefore none of the subsequent functions were initiated. At this point I assumed the DIY conclusion "They sent me a bad part" They overnighted a new board, Same results. Further aimless troubleshooting - No error codes ever displayed Tried unplugging then re plugging checked voltage in -123vAC Unplugged Oven connector leaving power to Board ( No change) Could this be 2 bad boards with the same defect - Unlikely Could this be operator error - yes, but what could I be missing??? Could this be installed incorrectly? I guess! but the wiring harness is pretty foolproof, 3 unique connectors only fit one way Could it be the wrong part? Possible but not likely, although the display is an exact match for the original boards, they are pretty obviously a different revision of the board (no longer uses the 3 capacitors that were on the old board). But this is the part number recommended when doing a part search by model number, and the part is packaged with "Whirlpool Corp Factory certified parts" Any thoughts or questions, please reply

  23. I have a Maytag dual wall oven, model CWE5800ACB, Series 19 (i.e., serial # begins with 19). Unit dates from prior to 2003 (when I bought the house). Recently, the bake element in the upper oven stopped heating. It failed in the middle of cooking and hasn't worked since. When I activate the bake setting, I hear the relay click immediately (twice actually, kind of like a tick-tock) and then I hear it click once about a minute or two later, and then again once every couple of minutes or so. Bake element does not heat at all. Temperature sensor seems to be working; the electronic display shows the oven temp as 75 degrees (i.e., approx room temp, 75 seems to be the minimum temp that the display indicates when the unit is turned on). I've pulled the bake element and checked the resistance; measured less than 50 ohms. I pulled out the electronic control unit, hoping to check the relays. The parts lists at the online parts shops indicated that the relays for this model are replaceable. Unfortunately, when I pulled the unit and inspected it, it looks like the relays are soldered onto the board; my guess is that the replaceable relays are for a newer rev of the unit. I did a search online for the part # on my control unit (7601P440-60), and it seems to be an older rev that is now obsolete and has no replacement part. Fortunately, there seem to be a couple places online that will refurbish this unit (price ranging from $100-$160): The Repair Shack, CoreCentric Solutions, and FixYourBoard.com Before sending out the unit for refurbishing, I was hoping to do a final test, so I know definitively what's at fault. From looking at the wiring chart and looking at the control unit, it appears that both the bake & broil circuits each have relays that are identical to each other. Thus it seems like I could swap the purple lead from E7 (BROIL) with the yellow lead from E5 (BAKE) and see if the bake element heats up when I activate the broil setting. That should prove that the relay on the unit is the culprit. Alternatively, I also considered jumping E5 (BAKE) and E6 (L1-B) to see if the element would start heating up. Not sure which of these tests is better, or if either/both are a problem. Any recommendations on which of these two tests to try before sending the control unit to be refurbished? Anything else I need to check? And any recommendations/advice regarding the 3 places listed above that advertise they can refurbish the unit (or referral to yet another place that can refurbish the unit)? BTW, I don't see any obvious sign of failure on the unit, no burns or scorches, everything looks normal. I realize that it might still be faulty, even with no obvious sign of failure. I just prefer diagnosing rather than guessing at the cause & throwing new parts at a problem. I've searched the forums for this and couldn't find this being discussed before; I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. And thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
