  1. Hey all, HVAC tech here, usually I can troubleshoot stuff like this but I'm super stumped at the moment. I have a Maytag washer (Model MHW5630HW2) that will stall mid-cycle sometimes. The only three modes we use on a regular basis are the "Quick Wash" (most commonly used), "Normal Wash", and "Clean Washer". When we run Quick Wash, most of the time it will run just fine, sometimes it'll freeze/stall part-way through the cycle and the only way to fix is flip the breaker off-on then it'll do a quick drain cycle & then unlock the door. If we run the "Clean Washer" cycle, the timer stalls around 1:20 and then doesn't move at all. It does this every time we try this cycle. I've never noticed the Normal Wash cycle do this, however I don't use it often so not sure if it stalls on that as well. There are no error codes or other indication of issues with the washer beside this. However, if we've noticed it's stalled, and then we press any button on the HMI, it'll show "PF". I've tried the following repairs to no avail: - Changing HMI and ACU (original HMI had a large scratch through the buttons) - Changing Water Fill Sensor - Verified all wiring is secure and no broken/stripped wire insulation - Cleaned water valve inlet filters One thing to note is that the new ACUs LED blinks really fast when power is applied, then slows to a slow flash. The tech manual I found says that if this happens, the ACU is bad - but I find that hard to believe as it's brand new :( Short of buying a new washer, what else could be the issue? What am I missing? Any help would be very much appreciated :)
  2. Any help would be appreciated don’t know where to begin looking for parts breakdown, wondering if drum is on rollers? Maybe bearing in roller is bad? IMG_5229.mov IMG_5227.mov

  4. My washing machine was fine two weeks ago. Then a big thunderstorm hit, and it immediately stopped draining. The wash and agitate and fill and rinse cycles still worked just fine, and there were no strange mechanical noises...it just quietly stops when the drain cycle activates... so I figured it was probably an electrical problem. - Changing the temperature, spin speed, load size switches had no effect. - Trying other cycles (such as "permanent press") had no effect. - Opening/closing the lid had no effect. (Neither did holding the lid switch lever down with a screwdriver while the lid was open.) I pulled out the timer and tested it for continuity with a multimeter based off the wiring diagram. Sure enough, I found an error. First, I made sure to remove the timer right when it was stopped on the faulty drain cycle. Then, I tested every connection on the timer terminals. Every connection was correct, except one: According to the wiring diagram, the tan-blue circuit was supposed to be ON during the "drain hi" cycle, but the multimeter found that it was OFF. So, naively, I replaced the timer. Same issue with the new timer: no draining, and no continuity on the tan-blue circuit. Now I'm wondering: What switch do I test next? I'm not sure how to read the wiring diagram. (Or maybe a wire is bad?) Thanks!
  5. Hi I have a an old maytag Lat8705aae it has a drum knocking noise in the spin there is a small leak front the seal but I’m just trying to determine if changing the bearing and stem and seal kit will solve it or if I have a transmission issue. there is a bit of play in the agitator shaft with the agitator removed thanks for any advice

  7. I have an LG WT7300CW 01 washing machine. At one point it began to turn on only when it wanted, and recently outright stopped turning on. I took it apart to take a look and deduced that when the front touch panel is attached, the thing would lock up and no longer work. I figured the issue was the panel went bad so I ordered a used replacement from eBay. Hooking that one up did not solve the problem, and I’m no longer sure what the issue is. I would think the board is the issue, but when I interface with the board without the touch panel, everything works fine. https://imgur.com/a/St0DuBY I took a video showing the issue. In the video, the touch panel is installed and the dial will not work. I quickly uninstall the panel and try to rotate the dial again, but now it works. This suggests that attaching the touch panel breaks the circuit. I could see that being the issue with the old one, but then why is this also happening with the replacement. Maybe the seller sold me a bad one I suppose, but I wouldn’t know how to test that. Right now we’re using it without the touch panel but ideally would want it fully assembled again.

  9. I have an Admiral ATW4475VQ1 top loading washing machine that tries to shake itself apart every time it's in the spin cycle. I've already done a few things to find/fix the issue, but it's still not much better. The things I've tried: 1)making sure the washer is level 2) making sure the laundry load is balanced 3) replacing the 3 suspension springs 4)checking the pads under the drum The machine is level, loads are balanced, and the pads look fine. Replacing the springs helped a little, in that the drum doesn't bang against the sides much anymore, but the whole machine shakes worse than it did. It'll try and walk itself out of its closet if I don't sit on it. I'm not a professional, so I'm not sure what to look for next. Any insight, tutorial links, etc. would be greatly appreciated by me and probably my downstairs neighbors. Cheers!
  10. I have a GE WSM2700DAWWW combo washer dryer that will not agitate. I have the front cover off and the motor makes no attempt to move after filling. The dial does not advance after filling. If I move the dial manually, it will do the rinse and spin so the motor works and belt is not broken. Any help/ideas greatly appreciated.
  11. I have a Kenmore Whirlpool from 1979, belt-driven, no electronics, 110.82082110 Never gave me any trouble except the belt had to be tightened once Now it jams suddenly and won't do anything but fill. I had just done a full load, was running on load 2, I heard a squeak for 3 or 4 seconds, then everything but the motor stopped. Drum would not turn/move at all even by hand. Viewed from behind, the motor turned but the belt didn't move. While unplugged, I moved it by hand and at first it almost took two hands. It got easier in two steps until it was very easy. I turned it on and it ran for two minutes, then I heard a CLINK and immediately the belt stopped again. Pushed it by hand again, this time it got easy faster. Turned it on, put it in the spin section as well as the agitate section of the cycle. I ran it for 3 minutes and turned it off. It worked well but I didn't do anything and I'm sure the problem is not solved. The wig-wag solenoids seem okay, the rods inside move. I've looked at everything, don't see anything that is broken, but I don't know what to look for. TIA.
  12. I have a whirlpool cabrio model WTW7340XW2. I replaced the shaft, seal, and bearrings. Now i get a UL code on every load. Any suggestions of what the problem could be? Thanks

  15. Good evening, this is my first post ever. I am trying to locate the manual and schematic for a washing machine which is occasionally leaking (enough water to soak 1 or 2 paper towels) at the front left leg. I initially accused my cat of peeing there but she swears that this is not the case. If you could help us locate the evidence to exonerate her, she would be much obliged. Thank you.

  20. I need help diagnosing my washer. The problem arises when the washer is going through its normal cycle and then later stops mid-cycle to show the IE error code. It's a head scratcher because I've tried almost everything I know to be associated with the IE error code. So far I've, -Checked all the hoses (water & drain) for any kinks, leaks, or blockage and debris. [All Clear] -Checked and cleaned the mesh filters for the water intake. [All Clear with the exception of very light mineral deposits] -Checked the water valves, hoses, and pressure were open and flowing normally. [All Clear] -Checked and cleaned the drain hose including its positioning to prevent siphoning. [All Clear] I keep reading through the manual too but I'm at a complete loss. https://www.searspartsdirect.com/model/2gpz2eaxe3-000583/kenmore-elite-79631523211-washer-parts Any ideas? Thanks to anyone who can help.
  21. The current status is: Dryer works fine Washer light comes on when activated (i.e. pull the knob out) Washer does not Fill with water Rotate Drain (based on sound) I'm looking for information to help me find the pump (ic) board; check the fuse; test the pump I don't know if I have multiple failures (perhaps caused by the impact when the spring broke): the speed controller, the pump, etc. Please advise History, oldest to most recent Washer ande dryer worked fine Loud noise and washer stopped rotating in any mode Diagnosed a broken support spring Received and installed a replacement spring (and a replacement electric washer moter, belt, and schocks ready to return for a refund) Washer fills but does not spin. 22. The selector knob on our Whirlpool Duet washer either got misaligned or is not communicating correctly with the computer board. The knob is in good working order and I've checked that it is on the stem properly. But the cycle the knob points to is not the cycle the washer is selecting on the control panel. It's almost like it "lost" certain cycle options. When the knob points at "white wash" the control panel shows two dashed lines and no wash temp, speed, etc are selected. When pointed at the Normal Cycle, it doesn't register anything on the panel. When pointed at Delicate and Hand Washables, cycle options register on the panel but I'm not sure they are the correct cycle settings. No matter where the knob is pointed, a hot wash cannot be selected (unless I change the setting using the buttons for wash temp). Wash times and temps register when the knob points to Soak, Soak/Drain and etc. And when I turn the knob to the blank space between the drain options and the white wash, cycle times show on the control panel. We tried unplugging for 1 minutes and a reset didn't help. Any idea what could be wrong and if it is serviceable? Thanks for any tips.

  25. Hello! I keep getting a water error on my Miele W1926 washer. I've cleaned all (4) of the hose filters multiple times, but I'm still intermittently getting this error. I found a thread on automaticwasher.org where folks were commenting that the triple intake valve can get clogged by hard water and the usual fix is to replace this valve. For the life of me, I cannot find a parts diagram or repair manual that lists the part number. I'm about to just tear into it and see if the valve has a part number listed on the side, but figured I could post here in case one of the experts here has any of the documents that may help me out! Thanks!
