  4. Model: Whirlpool FWDG97168WFR / 769991549661 Hi there, My very first post here, as I just found this site. I have an issue with the dryer - clothes are not dry at all even after multiple cycles. Same results with small load or full load. This issue started (just to provide some context) with wet clothes after full cycle or F15 error and clothes inside the drum being very hot, which ended with failed heating element in the air heater chamber together with failed bearings in the hot air blower motor (I assume motor failed first). Replaced both, no more F15 error. Clothes are still not dry, sometimes after two - three cycles it is OK more or less. Drying cycle takes very long - 4 / 5 hours, and most of the time with wet clothes. Filter between the drum and condenser, condenser itself and everything I could reach cleaned - no difference. Temperature sensor for hot air checked, seems to be OK (20k@25C if I remember well, measured with hot water as well) Water valve for drum cooling (during drying cycle) works, releasing small amount of water. Currently waiting for plastic pipe (connecting detergent box and air heater), as the rubber part which connects to hot air side is damaged, but I am not sure if it can cause all the issues. Anyway, replacement is ordered. Please, if possible, provide some guidance, and service manual would be great to have as well. I have capability and knowledge to work on electrical stuff, but this issue makes me (and my wife) crazy. Thanks in advance.

  6. Hello!y whirlpool fridge/freezer Wrt318fzdw02 is only 5 years old. The freezer and fridge have only cool air despite having thermostat cranked. The fan in the freezer runs as well as the fan by the compressor. It runs non stop. Compressor is warm. Coils weren't that dirty but I cleaned them. I removed thw back panel in the freezer, it had ice buildup on the upper right side. I cleaned it off, let it dry out for an hour, then put it back together. This morning fridge and freezer are still warm. Any suggestions? Bad evaporator? I'd add a picture of the ice but the image size limit is from the 90s so I'll have to downsize the image quakity later.

  9. Yesterday after watching the Samurai Repairman’s video on hot refrigerator door gaskets, I checked to see if the condenser fan on my fridge was working. It was not, but after I nudged it with a wooden spoon handle, it took off spinning. Today the gaskets were hot again, so I checked: The fan was not running. It started up readily with a nudge, but I’m wondering: 1) Is the fan meant to run constantly? 2) If it is not, what are the possible causes for the fan not starting back up when it’s supposed to be running? 3) Is this a case for the “unusual fix” mentioned in the above video, or is there another, more conventional solution?
  10. Hi all, Our Whirlpool WFE540H0AS0 oven has been having temperature issues (occasionally WAY too hot and then today not heating). I started with checking the thermal probe and it was fine. The heating element in the oven looked OK (we've replaced several over the life of the oven... I think pizza nights at 500 degrees is a bit rough on the element). An inspection of the element connection however was a different issue... The wire terminal was melted and ~1.5" of the wire itself was scorched. The element connector seems OK and it looks like I can clean away the oxidation. From what I can tell from reading online, this most often can occur if the wire terminal is loose and it's possible this happened the last time I replaced the element and it finally failed. I checked the resistance of the bake element and it was 16 ohm (right where it should be). My questions... Should I be concerned of this being from another cause? Can I clean off the element connection and use it as-is or should I replace the element? If there is enough slack, can I cut back to clean wire and use the existing run or should I replace the whole thing? If I need to replace the whole wire and terminal, are these available at Home Depot / Lowes or do I need a specialty shop (or online)? Thank you all much!
  11. I have my Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum toploader console open, and I’m trying to tweak the pressure transducer to give me more water. Thing is, I cannot find anything that looks like something I recognize as a pressure transducer on this unit. There’s an air hose that looks like it should fit into a pressure transducer, but it’s connected directly to some kind of component soldered directly onto the console PCB. In this photo you can see that part and the tube it was connected to. The other side of this tube is running down the back of the unit and I can’t see what it’s connected to as I can’t access the back side of this unit. Is this some new fangled thing where they’re shipping the pressure transducer as an IC attached to the console PCB? Or is the regular switch hiding somewhere I can’t see from the top? Thanks in advance for any tips…
  12. My whirlpool side by side fridge Model number GI5FSAXVY00 stops cooling ( both main section and freezer ). It automatically starts working without any intervention, its happened twice already. When this happens, the fridge is powered on. I can hear the fan running and all the lights are on. I hear a frequent clicking sound (like a thermostat) near the bottom of the fridge. I had hired a technician to look at this issue but unfortunately the fridge started to work automatically (after 36 hours of being warm) when he was around. He checked the compressor and mentioned it was a bit hot, there was no freon leak. He couldn't check anything else and left. After around 8 hours I see the same problem, temperature is going up.

  16. I have a Whirlpool fridge that isn't working nearly as well as it should be ...I have the cold settings set the highest that it can go and it's not nearly as cold as it used to be in both the freezer and the fridge part. About at least a a year ago I had to replace some parts that went bad when I had this same or similar problem...but I forgot what parts they were. Besides being pretty much silent I'm hearing a faint clicking noise once in a while. I'm wondering how can fix this? About how much would it cost for parts? Would it be more worth it just to get another one?

  20. Hi Friends: I have a Bosch B22CT080SNS/01 French Door Refrigerator. Ice maker is located in the bottom freezer. I cannot find for the life of me the ice maker assembly replacement. It is on back order.and has been for at least 2 months now. Bosch has not ETA. No local parts house, no online vendor, or my tech can find one. Only some in Canada but they won't ship to the US. I was told to find part number 00798555. This Bosch refrigerator was clearly made by Whirlpool. My brother owns a JennAir JFC2290REM00 and I can't find a difference in the models except of course the label. I'm willing to put in a generic ice maker if someone can suggest something that is compatible. This unit produces the crescent cubes. Any help or suggestions would be appreciate. Thank you!

  23. My Whirlpool side by side fridge model number WRS325FDAM02 has a stuck water filter. After opening the access door, the filter should pop out a bit, i guess, in order to pull it out for replacement. But it doesn't. This model has no button to push, but an access door at the bottom left of the fridge. The filter should, according to Whirlpool, just pop out when the door is opened right-to-left. Tried pliers on the end of the filter, but the end of the filter is rounded and gripping it from the end is impossible. Removed lower grating to see if that help with access, but it doesn't. Water filter hasn't been changed in 5 years! LOL... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
