  8. Hello, I have a question on how to test a turbidity sensor in a DW. From the web I have read this: " you can test the turbidity sensor at connection P12 of the control board. From pin 1 to pin 3, " Also I have included the actual board as an image. I have 3 questions on this. Assume the power to the DW is OFF. 1. Do you touch the probes which are yellow lines and referenced as A in the image? 2. Do you touch the probes which are orange lines and referenced as B in the image? 3. Why can't you take out the OWI sensor completely from the DW, and test pins 1 and pins 3 on the actual OWI sensor? I have not mentioned Ohms here at all, since the problem is what exactly do the multimeter probes come in contact with. Thanks, Rick P.S. In advance I hope I posted this message to the correct section of this forum.

  10. In the middle of putting away dishes, I found this plastic gasket/belt. This gasket was inside with my dishes, I have no idea where it came from. Got a breakdown of the dishwasher and didn't see that gasket anywhere, so I wanted to check on here before I dismiss it. Pictures are attached for reference. Top view, side view, and close up. Thank you.

  14. I am having troubles with my LG LDS5540ST dishwasher. The internal heating element, 5301DD1001G, burned out (no continuity but also no visible signs of damage). I've replaced it twice. Each time within the first wash cycle it burns out (no continuity). I've tested each unit prior to installation (and also before operation once installed) and both were good but almost immediately both burned out. Again, there was no visible sign of damage to the heating elements-- just no continuity when I checked with a meter. The water is on and (at least) initially the water is being heated. Then the element burns out. The dishwasher display the HE error code. Additional information that may be helpful: About 9 months ago the entire dishwasher stopped working with a burning smell. Upon investigation I found burned/melted connectors on the main assembly board. It looked to me like a connector wire had become loose and caused arcing. While charred and melted at specific connectors, the rest of the board itself appeared to be okay to my untrained eye. I was not able to determine where/how to purchase replacement connectors for the wiring harness (just the complete $100 wire harness), so just replaced the melted connectors with new female spade connectors instead. That solved the problem. The dishwasher powered up and worked well for at about 8 months. Then the heating element went out (and dishwasher displayed the HE code). Any thoughts on where to go from here? My thoughts: 1. Perhaps the main assembly board (EBR73739203) has gone bad (due to the previous damage over time?) and is burning out the heating element. 2. The wire harness (EAD61906701) is bad (maybe my spliced in connectors are causing some resistance but I'm not sure how that would cause the heating element to burn out -- and burn out within a few minutes). I don't see anything broken (again to my untrained eye) If the main assembly board and wire harness were not so expensive I'd just replace them and one more heating element, but that puts the cost around $230-$290 (plus what I've already spent) and I'm not sure replacing both of those will solve the problem anyway. Plus replacing the entire wiring harness looks like quite a time-consuming pain (I wish there were a source for just the connectors on the wire harness) Cost is unfortunately a significant factor for me. For reference I have included a couple pictures of the main assembly board in case it (or my previous repair work) may be an issue. The first picture is how it looked prior to my repair 9 months ago and the other is a recent picture of what it looks like now (including the repair I made 9 months ago). Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have any recommendations on what should I do from here or what would be causing heating elements to keep burning out? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

  17. I'm installing a used GE Cafe dishwasher - about 4-5yrs old, apparently. No model number to be found. When I go to attach the drain hose, there is a threaded connector on the dishwasher side, but no threads on the rubbery black elbow connector on the hose side. This is making me wonder if there is a part missing here. I've attached pics of each side, as well as the whole bottom in case that helps anyone recognize the model. It just seems odd to clamp this rubber hose end over a threaded mount, as if something else is meant to happen here and, if nothing else, be a source of leaks. Also, it notably says ON the drain hose "do not remove check valve", so I'm wondering if that's what's missing. Also, if anyone recognizes this model number, it would super help to have it if I need to buy a part! Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

  21. We bought Miele model G4205 dishwasher new 3 years ago. Not tool long ago it started having problems: often towards the end of the wash cycle it would stop and 3 amber LEDs (Cleaning, drying, end) would start flashing. It happens more often on longer programs. I followed instructions posted on this forum and went through diagnostics modes. After 1st entering into the diagnostics mode "Rinse & hold" LED flashed in 4 bursts. After pressing program, Cleaning flashes 1 long 8 short bursts. Also, once in while the drain pump would not stop pumping even without water left. Wiggling and pulling up on the base assembly stops it though. Any advice on what to do next?

  23. Hello board members I require your experience and advice regarding a used Bosch Compact Dishwasher model SKS51E18EU bought recently. The previous owner of 5 years mentioned an issue that it doesn’t drain at the end of the program, so restarting a new program clears this issue. After good results for 7-8 cycles its behavior changed.. The ordinary program sequence begins: Drainage > Emptying all water in the system > and then the inlet pump starts taking in water, after ~15 seconds of water going in, the "check water" indicator turns on, and the program ends with a long drainage. total of 3 minutes since program execution I checked: Different configurations of the in/out tubes in different angles while running The inlet filter - was clean Drainage filter + unscrewed some piece to reach the cog-wheel of the pump making sure there are no obstructions After looking online I found that for similar cases some concluded this might be the inlet valve, before ordering a replacement I need certainty that this is the solution, that’s why I require your help. Thanks in advance!
