I checked the connections and continuity of both my heating element and high-limit thermostat. What more can I do to keep my dishes from crying? Thanks! -Emkay

  7. Hello, My dishwasher is out of warranty (parts and labor) and I'm looking at repairing it myself. The dishwasher is only a little above 2 years old. The manual is located at this link Initially what happened was an Ed error code suddenly came up on the display, which I researched is a signal error; communication error between the display computer and the main computer. When I reset the dishwasher from the breaker, it no longer showed the error code on the display, and no lights and display. I reset it many times, waited over 30 minutes before turning it back on again and no lights and display. So now it doesn't even show the error code. No burnt smell. Some things I checked already: no water plugged or leaking anywhere Connection to power source is good (110v). Door latch and switch the door latch whether closed or open does not light up the display I shorted the connection on latch switch and still nothing on the display The main computer is getting power I took out the main computer to inspect it. No burns anywhere on front or back or signs of being exposed to water/moisture There are two built in fuses on the board which I checked and have continuity The display computer is getting power. connections going to the display are getting power I took apart the display computer which is glued on and no signs of being burnt or exposed to water/moisture Wires all wires inspected for burns or breakage, and no signs of that My diagnosis so far leads me to conclude the problem is with the display computer. But I could be wrong, and that's why I'm here for any advice! Thanks in advance

  9. GE Dishwasher (GDF610PGJ2BB) water would not drain so replaced drain pump on Friday, May 29th. The first two loads it ran with no problem. Today the drain pump runs nonstop and the control panel is not counting down from estimated time. Guessing the drain pump burnt out because of this same issue. The dishes appear to fully cycle and be clean but not dry. Searches of similar issues with GE Dishwashers have led me to believe it might be the Flood Switch or Control Board, but that is a guess. Any advice on what might be causing this problem?

  11. Hello and thanks for this wonderful forum. The dishwasher makes all the right sounds as well as heats up but I do not think there is any spraying taking place. I have checked the following: Inlet fill valve-Clean, it had some black plastic pieces, I cleaned it all out. Could have been one of the washers. The filter was not dirty, but I cleaned it really well with a tooth brush. The circulation pump-took it out, checked it, looks brand new, put it back in, still no spray. Can I connect the pump to 110 volts and check if it is working? My guess now is the control board, which on this Dishwasher is a really accessible, 30 minute job to replace it, but just wanted to check with the experienced DIYs on this forum before I ordered it.
  12. Hi, My dishwasher will fill water (and will intermittently drain some water too), but the circulation pump/sprayer does not start. In between I can hear a faint electronic hum, as well as the odd relay clicking. After an extended period of time it will give the 5 beeps (as if the wash cycle was completed). However when it does the 5 beeps, the water isn't emptied and is full up to the base of the door in the tub. I also noticed that the heater was on (if that's of any relevance). I've tried to turn off, wait 10 minutes and turn back on the dishwasher from the main breaker, but there was no difference. Also, I read about a "reset" sequence (i.e. hold down the power scrub + rinse & hold buttons for 10+ seconds). When I tried this, the "clean" light turned on, but nothing happens when I close the door. I believe it's supposed to force the tub to drain. Note the drain pump seems to be functioning, as I hear it sometimes turn on and drain excess water. Also, I inspected the check-valve, and it seemed to be working okay. My guess is that either the control board is bad, or the circulation pump is faulty? Please advise.

  16. Hello, I finally installed a Kenmore dishwasher 587.14249991 that I bought 2nd hand and had put in storage for a while. When I turned it on, the motor started (it was making motor noises at least), but no water came in. The water valve under the sink is open, of course. I replaced the water inlet valve, that did not solve the problem. The overflow switch is good, at least according to my multimeter reading. What else could it be? Thank you!

  23. Hi! newbie here! i've got a whirlpool dw WDT750SAHZ0 that has worked fine for over 6 months of daily use -- i bought it from a "scratch-n-dent" store. just yesterday, dw lights showed "clean." i oped the dw, and the dishes were all dirty. tried to run it again, then realized there's no water getting into dw. i checked the float, and i hear a faint "click," so i'm thinking that part is ok. i put the dw into a cycle mode, and i do hear a motor which i'm assuming would be a water pump running, but inside is dry as a bone when i open it up. now i'm assuming it's the water inlet valve. (that being said, i do have a mouse problem -- little bugger just chewed up my printer power chord. could mickey have eaten some of the wiring on the water inlet valve?) sidenote: i did check the water supply and it's on, as always -- it's just saddled into my hot water supply for my kitchen sink so it's can't be off unless i turn it off at the source. since we live way out in appalachia, finding an appliance repairman will be an exercise in extreme patience, and i'd like to be able to at least give him a hint before he drives all the way out here, only to find he doesn't have my particular water inlet valve. i was wanting to run a diagnostic test. unfortunately, there is no instruction on how to do so with this model. the only instructions i've found say to hit the "rinse" cycle. there is no "rinse" cycle on this model. it's got "sensor/heavy/normal/1-hour wash/soak & clean." there's no display either. on the other hand, am i just "pissin' up a drain pipe" even bothering with a whirlpool self-diagnostic? is it of any value? oh, did i mention that being the scaredy cat that i am, in order to block the mouse, i sprayed copious amounts of foam insulation into every crevice i could find, including the sides of the dw kickplate? 😳 thanks in advance! wendy 🙂
