  1. I have a 110 volt Kenmore 110.88670100 dryer that recently started working badly. When I would push the button after turning the timer there would be a loud sound of an electrical current but the tumbler would not engage. If the button was pushed heavily eventually no electrical sound. After awhile the button would go back to loud electrical sound and the tumbler not engaging. When taking the top off the sound seems to generate from the circuit board and timer assembly. I have replaced the plug in, the band that goes around the tumbler, and the push to start switch. Whenever I had the top off I would push in the start switch and see a light flash in its assembly. When pushing in the start knob I push the button a little to the right and it does turn on. I have ordered a new push to start switch and a board and timer assembly. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I have a Kenmore 596.69282011 bottom mount freezer where the freezer stays frozen, but the upper fridge section (about every week or so for a couple of days) warms up to about 15C (60F) for a day or two at a time. When this happens I can hear the fan running inside (and it is blowing nice cold air into the bottom freezer section) but I don't feel any cool air coming into the top centre rear of the fridge section. When it starts working again a few days later - I can once again feel cool air coming into the top fridge section. - could this be a damper issue not letting cool air from below into the fridge section? - or could this be a sign of the control board starting to fail as it doesn't happen all the time and is not consistent for how often and how long it fails for?

  5. its a kenmore HE not sure how old not high tech though it all started with my washer constantly draining as soon as its turned on before it even starts to fill. I check the drain pump thinking maybe its bad or obstructed by something. There is nothing in the lines or the pump. I assume the pump is bad but turns out that it is not. I start delving into the issue more maybe its part of it being stuck on sensing so I figure out that there is a booklet that lets you run diagnostic tests and I put it in the automatic test mode thinking if something is wrong itll stop on whatever the issue is. It goes through every step without an issue and drains completely. I turn it back on and this is also after ive calibrated it since i replaced the pump and see if it will run a cycle after the successful test and the sensing light comes on and instead of filling it automatically starts draining and it sounds like someone sucking the straw of a empty drink just like before. Ive also checked water pressure and the screens in the hoses. so since every part of the test ran well, hot water ran + cold water ran so that works and it ran through all the cycles including draining it couldnt be anything with the drain lines or pump i assume it could be the control board. I get access to the control board and unplug everything and take a nice look at it (i checked and everything was connected securely) and the whole board is pretty. nothing visible wrong with it. at this point im clueless and everytime i try to google it the only thing i see is "washer drains and fills at same time" and its maddening because mine doesnt even fill first. also not sure if it matters buts no matter what settings i put it in it goes into sensing and automatically starts draining. no water comes into the washer at all.
  6. Hello all! I really need to get my Kenmore 80 Series washing machine going again! A few weeks ago, it started making noise during the drain and spin cycles. I was advised to replace the basket drive and clutch assemblies. So, I ordered those parts. In the meantime, the symptoms changed: The noise turned into a grinding banging sound during the spin cycle The washer skipped the neutral drain step and instead did a drain/spin at the same time (there were no problems during agitation) The new grinding and banging was so bad, I stopped the cycle before it completed. When they arrived, I installed the basket drive and clutch assembly. However, the behavior was the same -- grinding and banging when the drain/spin cycle started. Research pointed to the transmission and the need for a neutral drain kit which I purchased and installed. I was super-disappointed to find the behavior is exactly the same! It's acting like it wants to spin, but also agitate at the same time (see attached video). So, my question is: Where do I go from here? Is it possible to identify the parts inside the transmission that need to be replaced? Or, is a new one the only way to go? I like the machine and would rather use it than a new (HE) machine. So far, I've spent around $275 in parts (along with many hours in research and labor). So, I don't want that to go to waste. But, my confidence is shot at this point and I don't want to just keep throwing money at this thing either. I'd really appreciate any guidance I can get. I'm happy to provide any information that could help you point me in the right direction. Thanks! KenmoreWasher.mp4
  7. Fridge-freezer unit, SN 804KR00272. First issue was freezer melt-down. Didn't have time to deal with it, my appliance tech replaced the linear compressor. The compressor cooled fridge to 37F, shut off, started again at about 43F and cooled to 36.7 and never restarted again. The compressor only ran two cycles over a weekend. When we came back, I turned off power for a bit, plugged it in and compressor started. Again ran just 3 cycles and no more. Notably, the compressor makes more noise than it used to (before replacement). Our appliance tech came back and replaced the motherboard, after some other tests. I wasn't here, unfortunately, so don't know any details what he tested or otherwise changed. Since I have a GoVee WiFi thermostat and hygrometer in the fridge section, I get very detailed readings from that (great little thing btw). So after the new motherboard initial power-up, I see temperature drop to about 37F, the compressor subsequently ran 8 normal cycles maintaining the fridge within 35.6F and 41F range (see pic). Great - except after that it stopped and temperature steadily increased to room temperature and stayed there. Nobody in the house, doors closed and no other interference. When I got back, I turned power off/on, fridge compressor kicked in, quickly cooled the fridge in about 1.5 hrs from 78F to 45F (fridge is set to 37F), now the temp has climbed to 52F and compressor has not started again. Suggestions for troubleshooting steps? Process of elimination?

  12. I am reaching out because my Kenmore gas dryer is not heating. I actually had an issue where I had to replace the motor because it would no longer start. The motor now works great, but the dryer stopped heating. Before that, I do know for sure that it was heating. I've checked everything that I can find online and in YouTube videos, including checking for continuity of the timer, both thermostats, thermal fuse, coils, flame sensor, and ignitor. Everything checked out there. I did do a voltage test on the red and blue wires that feed into the gas assembly, and the voltage was very low, nowhere near enough to power anything. I'm far from an expert and have only checked what YouTube videos have suggested so any help is appreciated! I would love to keep this dryer going and not create more waste.

  14. My Kenmore 795.71013.011 bottom-freezer fridge (here's a picture of the fridge tag with model number) is not cooling (both the fridge and the freezer are warm). Here are the things I have tested and what I have noticed: These things seem to be working fine: The evaporator fan runs fine inside the fridge The evaporate coils do not have frost on them, so the defroster system seems fine The condenser coils on the back of the fridge (inside the back panel near the floor) are clean (no dirt/dust issues) The condenser coil fan is running fine These are the issues I have noticed: The compressor is running on a regular cycle, but it seems to be drawing too little current (anywhere from 0.5 Amps to 0.8 Amps during the cycle) The compressor also does not draw consistent current throughout the cycle. It starts at 0.8 A, goes down to 0.5 A, then back up to 0.8 A before it stops. The compressor makes a strange noise when it stops the cycle (see this video to see the current draw during the cycle as well as the strange noise at the end of the video) The compressor isn't really heating up during operation; it's maybe slightly higher than room temperature The refrigerant lines into and out of the compressor are pretty much room temperature all the time
  15. Kenmore elite model 106.44433602 working fine but.... When the compressor is running you hear a relay fire off every 0.5 sec and it's random but repeatable. The relay that is making the noise is internal to the inverter module. Sometimes there is more delay between cycles. 7.5 ohms between all coils on the compressor. 5 volts on the signal wire from the control board to the inverter. 115volts at the converter compressor is running. I need the tech sheet to run the diagnostic. And the service manual would give me more information. I'm not a parts swapper, I need diagnose to the module or component. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Refrigerator stoped working and ruined all fools over weekend. Get power, lights, fans all work. Compressor was not running. Pins on compressor range from 5-8 ohms. Ground is good and fan ran when plugged in. Ordered new relay W10197428 TDS2. Replaced w/ original capacitor. Plugged in and compressor started up but relay blew in a few seconds.

  21. I am looking for the tech sheet for a Kenmore Dishwasher with the model number 665.16982200. I have found in the parts manual on Sears that the tech sheet publication number is LIT8537797. Here on appliantology I found a tech sheet for a dishwasher with the publication number of 8537797. Is this the same thing? Is this a rule I can use for the future if I find a pub number that has LIT as a prefix? Can I drop the LIT and just search the number? @Captain Dunsel @Son of Samurai
