  1. Fridge-freezer unit, SN 804KR00272. First issue was freezer melt-down. Didn't have time to deal with it, my appliance tech replaced the linear compressor. The compressor cooled fridge to 37F, shut off, started again at about 43F and cooled to 36.7 and never restarted again. The compressor only ran two cycles over a weekend. When we came back, I turned off power for a bit, plugged it in and compressor started. Again ran just 3 cycles and no more. Notably, the compressor makes more noise than it used to (before replacement). Our appliance tech came back and replaced the motherboard, after some other tests. I wasn't here, unfortunately, so don't know any details what he tested or otherwise changed. Since I have a GoVee WiFi thermostat and hygrometer in the fridge section, I get very detailed readings from that (great little thing btw). So after the new motherboard initial power-up, I see temperature drop to about 37F, the compressor subsequently ran 8 normal cycles maintaining the fridge within 35.6F and 41F range (see pic). Great - except after that it stopped and temperature steadily increased to room temperature and stayed there. Nobody in the house, doors closed and no other interference. When I got back, I turned power off/on, fridge compressor kicked in, quickly cooled the fridge in about 1.5 hrs from 78F to 45F (fridge is set to 37F), now the temp has climbed to 52F and compressor has not started again. Suggestions for troubleshooting steps? Process of elimination?
  2. Hello Appliance pros, newbie DIYer here. Few weeks ago a falling tree took down the wires next to my house and fried most of my appliances. Surprisingly I managed to recover most except Thermador DWHD650 dishwasher. Upon examination I discovered thar the motherboard was badly damaged. My research led me to purchase Bosch part #00752731. The numbers on the pcb housing match the numbers of the old module. Once installed, I noticed that some buttons don’t work and LED lights are not lit. I managed to turn the machine into programming mode P2 and test all buttons. All work fine. It feels the motherboard needs to be reprogrammed to enable additional functions. I was wondering if anyone can suggest how to approach that. Thank you.
  3. Dear Forum I've been at this for days trying to rule every other component out to make certain I order the right part to fix my Samsung DV350AGP/XAA Gas Dryer. The cycle runs, motor spins, controls and display respond normally. There is no heat. The igniter does not glow. There is no AC voltage on the igniter line when the dryer is spinning. I have first isolated and then conducted resistance tests on all the sensors as follows: Igniter resistance is 119Ω Thermostat located near the blower is 0Ω Hi-Limit Thermostat located on gas chamber reads 0Ω Radiant (flame) sensor reads 0Ω Thermistor reads 12Ω @ 67°F on the sensor and up at the motherboard as well. Tested the gas valves as well and all are according to manufacture spec at 1.39Ω / 1.28Ω / 0.57Ω Tested my belt cut-off switch, door switch and even the lamp are all right on spec. So now my attention is turned to the motherboard, there is little information out there on how to test the motherboard but I've tried to test the heater relay switch RY6, it does not change in resistance at any time during a drying cycle or when the dryer is powered off. Is this normal? when my meter is at VAC, i do pickup the following on the Heater Relay Switch: 0.092AC Voltage when dryer powered ON but not in a cycle 0.192AC Voltage when dryer is in a cycle (spinning) 0.187AC Voltage when dryer is powered OFF its so minor i fail to see its significance though unless the heat relay is using this small amount of voltage to trigger another relay somewhere else I have yet to find. Should the heater relay close circuit when the dryer is running and its failure to do so means the on board relay is bad? Have i tested it properly? i just pulled the RY6 header off and Ohms tested pin 1 to pin 2 and go nothing, started the dryer and still got nothing. Can anyone take a stab at helping me determine if my motherboard is bad or if its a bad wiring issue or did I overlook a sensor or relay test? MUCH APPRECIATED! My neighbors are getting tired of drying our laundry for us. Thanks!
  4. Does anyone know what the output voltage should be (low voltage to compressor)? YouTube video says between 2 and 5 VDC, but I am getting 12 VDC?
  5. Hello and thanks for this excellent resource! Whirlpool side by side fridge model EC3JHAXRL00. She quit cooling. No compressor, no fan. After unplugging to disassemble, then plugging in to check voltages, fan came on. Later fan did not come on. About a month ago I replaced the capacitor to the fan and she has run fine until now. Capacitor still looks good and is tight in motherboard (MOBO). I read the post below and am trying to determine if the inverter is bad or the motherboard. Here are my numbers: Compressor 9.6 ohms all three terminals = check Power input to inverter = 220 V AC ==check I get no current draw on the feed while all connected and power on. SO, I suspect the inverter. I could not reach the J15 terminals on MOBO, so checked at plug to inverter = 3.3 V DC. Post below indicates should be 4-6 V DC. Is this a case where values can vary between models or is my inverter not getting enough voltage? If so, does this explain why no current draw from inverter? Questions: which one is bad, inverter or MOBO (main control) board, or both. Any other tests? Should the fan come on regardless if the inverter is bad? Or is it being off normal because after all, compressor is not hot? Thanks for any help. Food is in coolers, so it's either fix it ASAP or time for new one!
