  3. Hi. I have a LG refrigerator model 349R. It is in very good condition, the only problem is the condenser fan motor that gets noisy some time. I remove the part and spinned the axis. I heared some squeaking so the problem is the motor. I opened it and here are the pictures. Is there an alternative to replacing the entire motor : 1. Can the ball bearing be removed and replaced? 2. Is there a way to grease it (although I believe those bearing are not meant to be greased) 3. What is the purpose of the hole on the side. I found some sort of gum in it. Thx for your help
  4. Fridge-freezer unit, SN 804KR00272. First issue was freezer melt-down. Didn't have time to deal with it, my appliance tech replaced the linear compressor. The compressor cooled fridge to 37F, shut off, started again at about 43F and cooled to 36.7 and never restarted again. The compressor only ran two cycles over a weekend. When we came back, I turned off power for a bit, plugged it in and compressor started. Again ran just 3 cycles and no more. Notably, the compressor makes more noise than it used to (before replacement). Our appliance tech came back and replaced the motherboard, after some other tests. I wasn't here, unfortunately, so don't know any details what he tested or otherwise changed. Since I have a GoVee WiFi thermostat and hygrometer in the fridge section, I get very detailed readings from that (great little thing btw). So after the new motherboard initial power-up, I see temperature drop to about 37F, the compressor subsequently ran 8 normal cycles maintaining the fridge within 35.6F and 41F range (see pic). Great - except after that it stopped and temperature steadily increased to room temperature and stayed there. Nobody in the house, doors closed and no other interference. When I got back, I turned power off/on, fridge compressor kicked in, quickly cooled the fridge in about 1.5 hrs from 78F to 45F (fridge is set to 37F), now the temp has climbed to 52F and compressor has not started again. Suggestions for troubleshooting steps? Process of elimination?

  6. Yesterday after watching the Samurai Repairman’s video on hot refrigerator door gaskets, I checked to see if the condenser fan on my fridge was working. It was not, but after I nudged it with a wooden spoon handle, it took off spinning. Today the gaskets were hot again, so I checked: The fan was not running. It started up readily with a nudge, but I’m wondering: 1) Is the fan meant to run constantly? 2) If it is not, what are the possible causes for the fan not starting back up when it’s supposed to be running? 3) Is this a case for the “unusual fix” mentioned in the above video, or is there another, more conventional solution?

  9. Hello, I have Samsung refrigerator RF23M8570SG. Touchscreen is not responding, no lights in refrigerator, not cooling. I tried: - reset power to refrigerator - use reset bottom in the hidden compartment on the door. - reconnect all connectors. I found a usb slot next to reset bottom, maybe there is a way to download software and try to reset it that way, my other guess is to replace main control board. Did someone encounter this situation, thank you for your help

  13. Had a full refrigerator at coldest setting of 9 but temperature was between 40 and 50 degrees F. Emptied the frig and temperature appears to return to normal -- 38 degrees F at setting of 7. Slowly replacing food and hoping !! Is it possible the fridge was too full? It's and older model, maybe 10 or more years old. Would greatly appreciate advice on this. Thanks

  15. My Whirlpool side by side fridge model number WRS325FDAM02 has a stuck water filter. After opening the access door, the filter should pop out a bit, i guess, in order to pull it out for replacement. But it doesn't. This model has no button to push, but an access door at the bottom left of the fridge. The filter should, according to Whirlpool, just pop out when the door is opened right-to-left. Tried pliers on the end of the filter, but the end of the filter is rounded and gripping it from the end is impossible. Removed lower grating to see if that help with access, but it doesn't. Water filter hasn't been changed in 5 years! LOL... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  21. I've been having defrost issues with my Whirlpool refrigerator, and I am at my wits end! What is happening is that it does not enter the defrost cycle on its own; rather, I have to manually turn the timer with a screwdriver to get it to defrost. I have replaced the following items: Defrost timer (twice), defrost thermostat and regular thermostat for refrigerated section. Once I manually initiate a defrost, the heater does come on and melt and ice in the freezer, and after about 20 minutes the timer switches back to cooling cycle, but does not automatically go back into defrost roughly 8 hours later (its rated time). This refrigerator does not seem to have any sort of defrost control board, as I looked over the parts diagram for this unit. I really don't know what else could be causing this issue. All replaced parts were OEM and correct to this Whirlpool refrigerator, and I did test them via recommendations elsewhere online. Please, if anyone has anything that could help me try and solve this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!
