All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom

Admiral Free Standing Gas Range, Model #A6498VRV

Good Morning:

Does anyone know how to access the controls on this older Admiral gas range?

2 screws that can be removed from the bottom of the control panel but the top of the panel does not come free and it feels as if there are screws attaching it? The exploded diagram does not show any screws attaching at the top of the control panel.

I am wondering if the entire top needs to be removed in order to access the top of the control panel.

If the stove top does need to be removed, it would seem to me that the screws at each burner (approx 3 ea.) must be removed and the top should lift off. I did not want to remove it until I could get a good idea on whether I should or not.

Thanks,

Steve

If you're talking about the ERC, burner switches, et. al., then I believe on these older ranges you just remove the back back panel.

Hi:

I am talking about the spark module, RF burner switch and the keypad which attaches to the ERC. Does it still make sense that you get at these from the rear?

Does to me.  Have you scoped the back panel?  If you see a bunch of 1/4" screws around the perimeter in back, that's a sure hint from the designers that you're supposed to access thata way.

This is a slide in unit with TP and ERC on the front.  All burners must be removed along with the screws under them.  After that, main tip will be able to be lifted up accessing switches and ERC.
