Sharp AF-S125FX Window Air Conditioner

Recommended Posts

The window air conditioner runs a few minutes, then turns itself off and displays 'E1'. The manual says we should clean the filter and we have. To reset it we have to unplug it and plug it back in. Then it works normally for a few minutes and turns itself off again.

My guess is that it is overloading something, or some sensor that detects overloading is defective.

This is a fairly new air conditioner, a year or two old. Any ideas?

The wife fixed it. Customer support at Sharp says what you have to do is unplug it and then hold the 'On' button down on the air conditioner while plugging it back it. That resets it.

Yes have read of this before, it is timed from when you first plug it in, guess by how many hours it has run, some suspect it is so you will call for service since they need to be cleaned every year...
