Jenn-Air side by side fridge question re: fridge/freezer controls

5 posts in this topic

Howdy,

Based on many of your existing forums, I was (hopefully) able to correctly diagnose the problem with my Jenn-Air (Model # JCD2389DES), and replaced the Adaptive Control Board -- I was having the very popular ice buildup on the freezer side, not enough cold on the fridge side.

In the process of replacing the board, I inadvertenly popped out the tabs that hold in the fridge/freezer temp control thingys (the plastic bars that slide back and forth, controlling temp).  And, in the process of getting those tabs back in place, I believe that the control gears may have moved somewhat.  Now, even though I put it back together, I'm not 100% sure that the controls are in their original location.  Does low still mean low, medium mean medium, and high mean high, anymore?  I'm not sure.

Any insight into how to adjust these back to their original starting point, is GREATLY appreciated.  Perhaps there is something on the gear itself that gives a clue on this?  I did see an indentation on one part of the gear.

Thanks for any info you can provide!!

Best thing to do is study this diagram of how the controls are supposed to be assembled and compare with your arrangement.

Thank you.  It's definitely Part #7 that may have gotten turned while I was putting things back together.  Based on the diagram, they seem to have a horizontal orientation  -- the holes that surround the center hole are on either side of it.  Would you surmise that this is where they are in their original setting?  Are you aware of any other technical document that would share more details on it?

Again, thanks for your insight!  Now, go enjoy a tasty beverage this holiday weekend.

Okay, thank you very much.  Seems to be back in action.  Time will tell.

Thanks, again.
