      This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers. 
      If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. AC Unit For Crank-type Casement Window

I have an Andersen casement window (those ones with a crank) measuring 24.5" W x 31" H (inside opening) and was wondering if there are casement / slider window AC units that will work. Most I've seen have those accordian gap fillers for the space top to bottom but since my window is 24.5" wide I'd probably have to cut a plywood block to fill the gap on one side? I'll probably also have to block up the bottom to clear the crank handle on the inside.

Anyone have any experience / advice on using one of these units in these type of windows?

some of the non-casement units are less than 24.5"

Ouch! :D Good point! Maybe I was too focused on the word casement!

 

Anyways, if I don't relish the idea of a big block ot plywood fillig the gap at the top, would still be intersted in hearing what others might have done.

the second problem you might have . do your windows open all the way , everone of these i have see or worked on .we have had to remove the window and crank system to fit any ac unit ! .... the window just did not open up enough
