Whirlpool dishwasher model DU1055XTSQ2

Have this whirlpool dishwasher,it's just over 1 year old.The dispenser door won't open everything else works great.What could be wrong?

could be a bad Dispenser (280 to 340 OHMS)

or a bad (Triac on the) Controller

I removed the front panel and checked the little dispenser motor and it ohms about 270 or so.Must be in the control board?

the Dispenser may just be a bimetal latch triggered by a resistor heater.

You may be able to supply 120v (and wait) to check it ...

This is a great way to check wax motors. I carry a test cord in my tool bag for this.

but what's with the Red & Black clips ?

is Black hot ? as in AC volts ?

or maybe it's just a 2-wire non-polarized plug ...

It's not a good picture, but there's an AC 120vac plug underneath the cord bundle. The alligator clips clip onto the spades of the wax motor. Wax motor isn't polarity sensitive so it doesn't matter which clip goes on what spade. Clip, plug, play!

Black & White Wires are visible ...

Black is hot

Red is Neutral

Not sure what your point is. In using this cord with a wax motor, it doesn't matter which clip you put to which spade.

In some applications, it may be good to know that the red clip is on the neutral wire; but for testing a wax motor, machts nicht.

You may want to test a device / or connect the hot lead to a device that should already have (hot) power

and the rest of the machine is still powered ...
