Duet. No Model Number

15 posts in this topic

I have a whirlpool duet washer that keeps giving me an F28 error code. I can't find the model number anywhere. after I hit start the door will lock. it will let a little bit of water in, unlock, lock, and then it will do nothing for about 3 minutes and then the error code shows up. I have cleaned all connections. I'm completely stuck on this one. the tech sheet number is 8183018. any help would be greatly appriciated

I also have put the motor and MCU in another machine and they worked fine. I believe my problem is the CCU but without a model number I'm not sure which one to order. I could be wrong too. I don't have much experience. expecialy  when it comes to duets

I don't believe this is the standard Whirlpool Duet washer, (it's one of the higher end Duet Sports but uses the standard Duet pump instead of the normal Duet Sport pump and shocks, looks like a conglomerate of the standard Duet and Duet Sport).

If you need to get an actual model# to look up parts - Page 2 and 3 have Whirlpool model#'s that use the tech sheet that is in this machine, (The first page, long model#'s are Kenmore models which would have a 110. in front of the indicated model#).

If it's a WFW9200S   :headscratch:

from Service Update: Direct Drive Washer

DUET WASHER INFORMATION

New Manufacturing Division

Beginning January, 2007, some WFW9200S washers will be built in Monterrey, Mexico.

New washers will be distinguished by Engineering code and by serial number.

– Schorndorf Eng. Digits 00-09

– Monterrey Eng. Digits 10-19

– Schorndorf serial begins with CS

– Monterrey serial begins with HL

93% of the parts are interchangeable.

Unique parts include:

– Drive motor

– Drain pump

– Central Control Unit

– Tub

– Drum

– Cabinet

– Rear panel

It is very important to use the Engineering digit numbers in the model number

whenever ordering replacement parts.

is it possible to find a part number on the old parts. theres about 3 different numbers on the CCU. I ordered a new one and put it in. it gave me an F99 error. I'm assuming its the wrong part

Do you have the digital display or is there L.E.D. lights ............ If digital display, you could be in the model numbers WfW8500SO........( Duet Sport )  No fault codes over F-34 just sd.......................

its digital. I forgot to  mention in my first post that this machine was in a basement with about six inches of water. I replaced the MCU and the drain pump. that got it to drain. I have clean the motor and all connections. I also cleaned and checked all gounding switches. dont ask me why the guy wants to try and salvage it

If the CCU is the same as in the standard Duet Sport, (which I believe it is), the numbers on the control or on the board inside the plastic casing is not a part# that you can look up the control by,  (it says right next to the numbers on the stickers on three of these controls I picked up, "not a service part#", I did searches on the numbers on the tags on the plastic case and on the boards inside the case to see if I could determine what models they were used on and none of the numbers came up anywhere).

You're going to have to come up with the correct model number to order the correct CCU board or find someone that has the CCU with the same numbers as yours which then you could use their model number.
